park jimin ran across the hall, scurrying to class before an ambush of giant high school students would burst into the hallways. getting pushed by a swarm of people was the most dreadful thing that could happen to him today. unfortunately, the bell rang, sending jimin into a state of panic. students left and right came crashing into the halls, chatter slowly brewing a storm. jimin was surrounded. no, he thought. he looked around trying to figure a way out of this mess. there's no use, just push your way through.

poor, fragile jimin tried to walk through the crowd, but ended up with a bruise on his ankle from falling. he finally reached his designated classroom, where multiple people have already entered and gathered in their own cliqués. jimin quietly meandered through to the very back of the class, setting down his backpack and lazily slapping his textbooks on his desk. im alone once again, he thought. the bell rang, and students scramed to their seats. mr. kim busts open the door, surprising the entire class.

"alright class, settle down or i'll backhand you all," said mr. kim.

quiet giggles took over the classroom until mr. kim writes a math problem on the board. the class sighs, and some mumble under their breaths.

"it's just a simple quadratics problem! even the dumbest of people could solve-"

the door bursts open again, this time by a certain tall, dark, and handsome student by the name of jeon jungkook.

"-speaking of dumb people! basketball star jeon jungkook! why don't you travel on over here just like you do in all your games and solve the equation on the board?" mr. kim says smugly.

the class erupted in oo's and the occasional "he TOLD you sis" would pop up into the air as well, making jungkook extremely embarrassed.

"i'm sorry, mr. kim, but equations aren't really my thing! you know what is though? sitting down and copying notes! y-yeah! i'll get right to it!" jungkook scurries away to his desk, earning high fives from boys and cute stares and gestures from the girls.

jimin's heart skips a beat. jungkook, the star basketball player on A team, was jimin's little crush ever since freshman year. but jimin knows he'll never have a chance, with him being the nerdy, quiet, short little bean and jungkook being the most popular guy in seoul high school. mr. kim sighs in dissapointment, and then turns to the class.

"would anyone like to volunteer to solve the equation on the board?" mr. kim asks. noone raises their hands.

"alright, then i'll have to pick then," mr. kim says.

oh god please not me, jimin thinks, please anyone but me!

"how about..." mr. kim looks around the room, humming in thought as he scratches his non-existant beard. "park jimin."

jimin huffs in dissapointment as he gets up from his seat. he slowly walks up to the board, palms sweaty from nervousness. why am i like this all the time? jimin asks himself. he hesitantly takes the expo marker from mr. kim, and glances up at the problem.

that's so easy? how come noone volunteered to do this? jimin thinks in his head as his hand automatically writes numbers on the board. the students around him stare in awe.

jimin finally solves it, setting down the maker on a surface and turning around to mr.kim.

"is this right, mr. kim?" he asks.

"of course it is, jimin-ah! give a round of applause to park jimin everyone!" mr. kim shouts.

jimin blushes and glances at jungkook's side, to see if he's paying attention or not. as expected, jungkook is on his phone with earbuds plugged in, not paying attention to the events that are going on around him. jimin frowns sadly. he trudges to the back of the classroom, and slumps down in his desk. the one time i try to get him to notice me, i fail, jimin thought.

what jimin fails to take notice of is that jungkook was watching the whole time silently through his phone, elated that his phone camera recorded in 1080p.
