"The greatest risk is not taking one."
These very words carry me carefully. Hour by hour.
Day by day.
Month by month.
Year by year. It's hard to be a kid growing up in this forth coming generation. Where society tells us who to be and strips us away from who we're mean't. We often forget where we come from. Where we call home. Who we call family. We forget who we are eventually.
That's society's fault, right? Well, yes. It's true! Society does have a great impact on our decisions. But that's only how far we let them influence us. We let society become who we are. Maybe not intentionally, but it eventually happens if we don't stop ourselves.
I once knew a girl who was the best of the best! Beautiful looks, high grades, and popularity. She didn't have a care in the world. She was a free spirit!
But what would happen if you stripped away everything from her?
Well, she'll be just a girl. And that's what happened. She let society in and tell her who she's supposed to be. Tied up in chains of those who criticize her. The never ending sleep of torture weakens by the seconds.
She is no longer the smart, beautiful, and carefree spirit we all knew. She has become dark and cold. Not one ounce of sunshine left inside of her. Always in a war with herself. Never with anyone else. Emptiness was all she felt. Society took her far, far away from who she was.
But one day, when she thought she'd end the pain, a voice inside stopped her.
Remember me?
Was all it said. But it was enough to regret all that she's done. Remembering all that she ever was comes crashing in like a thousand tons. Enough to make to her present reconcile with all the past that she doesn't interact with anymore. Guilt is all she feels. Then she realises the pain was real. Not only for her but for her loved ones too. She regrets the pain she's put them through.
Quickly as possible, she apologises to them. For the way she acted when society came after her. They tried to help her, but she pushed them. Afraid they would hurt her in a worse kind of way.
Do you see now what I'm trying to say? That girl was not only me, but everyone else in a sort of way. Everyone feels and goes through these things. But when we do, we must not let society get in the way. Choosing our paths for us.
Now we must live our lives the way we want. Don't let anyone stop you, unless if you fall. Keep this is mind, my friend. Be yourself and don't think too much. Plus, it kills alot of brain cells.
