That Should Be Me [A Short Story (Fanfiction)]

Part XII: Wedding

Nino-senpai came home late after his meeting with Daiki's doctors. After he silently went inside, and put his shoes inside the shoe box, he went inside his house, and saw Cath standing in front of his kitchen counter top, cooking something for dinner, and it seems Nino-senpai knows what it was.

He hugged Cath from behind, who is definitely in the middle of mixing the gravy.

"Ah. Tadaima." Cath happily greeted her senpai.

"Good thing you're cooking my favorite, 'cause I'm starving." Nino-senpai commented.

"Of course." She agreed. "Its been a while since I cooked hamburger steak for you."

"I remember that clearly." Nino-senpai smirked as he prepared the table for the two of them.

"Me too." She replied. "How can I forget about that?"

Nino-senpai smirked as he glance at Cath and her bump. "The proof is already there."

Cath laughed at him and slap lightly on Nino-senpai's head. "Mou! I'm not talking about that." She pouted. Nino-senpai just laughed, and kiss her cheeks. He once again snuggle behind Cath as she plates the hamburger steak that she cooked.

"I wish I could still do things to you." Nino-senpai huskily whispers to her ear.

"Did I just became your girlfriend to fulfill your filthy desires?" Cath ferociously asked.

Nino-senpai wacked her head lightly and laughed. "I'm not hungry for sex, you idiot."

"It sounds like that to me." She laughed back.

The rest of the dinner was full of laughter and joy for the both of them, but it doesn't masked the fact the meeting that he had with the doctors earlier. He did not wish for her to worry, 'cause worrying will affect her pregnancy, and he does not want to put her mother and child in danger once again.

"What is it?" Cath asked as she noticed Nino-senpai becomes silent and odd all of a sudden. "You looked a bit worried?"

Nino-senpai shook off his sudden absent-mindless as he heard Cath's voice.

"Did the doctors says anything bad?" She asked.

Nino-senpai shakes is head and replied, "The doctors did not say anything bad. In fact, they've bring good news to us."

"Really?" Cath wondered in excitement. "What is it?"

"We have found heart cells donor that matches Daiki's." He tells her.

Cath's eyes lighten as her boyfriend answers her question. At long last, the chances of Daiki's healing has come to light.

"Yokatta. My prayers had been answered." Cath smiles as she grasps Nino-senpai's hand.

He recalled what the doctors said earlier. About the risks that the donor will face during and after the cell transplant. He looked at his partner once again. Her glowing smile and her growing stomach makes him feel heavy in his heart, but he also knew that if he did not do this, his brother will die; and Daiki is his family too. His only wish as of this moment is to give Cath less worries as long as he can, and to help Daiki gets better for good, so that they can become one happy family.

It was time for bath, and Nino-senpai aide Cath in bathing her. It was really unecessary, but bathing her is like taking care of a piece of gem that is fragile to break. After Nino-senpai washed Cath gently in the shower area, he carries her in the bathtub with the perfect temperature for her to relax.
