I grab my lunch from my locker. Ham and lettuce again? That's nasty. I slowly walk over towards the cafeteria, bumping into random students as I go along.

"Hey Simon!" I hear my friend Ethan yell as I enter the room. I look around the lunch room looking for that familiar face. I spot him near the back sitting with the rest of our friends. I make my way over to them, kids run in front of me almost tripping me as I go. I sit down next to Ethan and I take a bite out of my bland sandwich.

"Eth these teens act like animals." I say glancing at the blonde haired boy.

He chuckles, his dark blue eyes lighting up. "They act worse than animals c'mon Si." He nudges me.

"I guess you're right." I say laughing with him. Whenever I'm with him it's never a dull time.

The noise in the cafeteria soon dies down. I turn around to see JJ the school's head football player standing in front of what looks like a new student. The student has his lunch spilled all over his nice white shirt. Oh no, this can't be good.

"Watch where you are going you freak." JJ spats at the guy on the ground. Which makes most heads turn and gawk at the scene in front of them.

"I'm so, so sorry. I'll watch next time." The guy on the floor says his voice shaking.

My mouth falls open as I watch JJ grab his redbull and dump it on the poor guy's head.

"Whoops." He says in a sickly sweet tone making the whole cafeteria erupt with laughter. He leans down getting closer to the boy "This better not happen again or else." JJ states and struts away to his table with his possy following close behind him. Callux, Freezy and Weller. All of them are pricks, picking on the people who are "lower" than them.

No one moves. Not even when JJ isn't paying attention to the guy. It's like he put a spell on the school, making them too afraid to help that guy in need.

All of us too scared to help someone because we don't want to be in the same place, because we want to be like JJ, because we want to fit in.

The guy gets up from the floor. His face goes red as he sprints out of the cafeteria. If you looked closely you could see his face stained with tears. I quickly get up from the table mumbling a quick "I need to go piss" before walking away.

Before I enter the door I can already hear the soft sniffle coming from that new bearded boy. I slowly push it open revealing the boy looking like an attractive mess.

"Hey are you okay?" I ask. Stupid question. "Okay that was dumb of me obviously you aren't but do you get what I meant?" I say scratching my neck.

"I'll be fine, I'm always getting shoved around like this so what's the difference." He says shrugging.

"I know what being 'fine' really means." I say walking over to where he was sitting. "I used to be the new kid. They used to push me around and call me names. Try to ignore them, I'll see if you can sit with me at lunch." I say giving the boy a warm smile.

"Why wouldn't I be able too?" He asks furrowing his eyebrows in confusion. "I didn't mean for that to sound rude but like ugh I don't know how to explain it." He slouches.

"Nah I get you. I'm only asking because we never get anyone new at our table." I say glancing at the brown haired boy.

"Why don't you hate me?" He asks sorrow filling his brownish green eyes. "Everyone else does." He says directing his eyes towards the ground.

"I'm not sure I usually stay away from anyone who JJ dislikes but you're different." I say truthfully.

"A good different?" He asks hopefully. His eyes lighting up.
