Chapter 41: Marco and Dipper Find Out They Have A Lot in Common

Marco's POV

I woke up to a boy standing over me violently shaking me while saying my name.

I jumped up, only to immediately fall back down.

"Ow," I groaned.

"Marco! You're up!" The boy said.

I couldn't make out who it was due to my blurred vision, but by the voice I assumed it was Dipper.

"Dipper?" I mumbled, struggling to get words out.

My brain felt like total mush. I couldn't recall anything. I mean, I didn't even know where I was.

"Marco, you need to help me," He frantically said.

"Wait, where are we? What happened?"

"Bill got ahold of the rift and took us captive!" Dipper explained.

"Rift? What are you talking about?" I asked, "Where's Star?"

"There's no time to explain!" Dipper said, "Just get up and help me find a way out,"

I groaned as I slowly sat up, propping myself up with both hands.

"Hurry!" Dipper snapped.

"Alright, just give me a minute," I said while trying to figure out what was going on.

Okay Marco think. You were at the hospital. You left Star's room to use the restroom. You returned to see Tom harassing Star, as usual. And I attempted to fight him off, which was useless as the door was slammed in my face. I pulled on the door, and after an embarrassing amount of failed attempts headed to a nearby desk to request a doctor or police or anybody basically. And then everything began to shake, chaos erupted- and now I'm here.

"Marco!" Dipper yelled, "We don't have time to lay around, get up and help!"

"Alright, Alright, geez," I said as I slowly stood up.

I felt dizzy and had to stare at the brick wall until I could focus my eyesight and balance clearly.

I studied the area Dipper and I were captive in. It was rather small, with a hard stone floor, and hard brick walls. The area was damp and hot. Bars outlined one part of the wall, allowing me to recognize we were in a jail cell.

I walked over to the bars and gave a slight pull.

Not even a budge.

"How long have we been here?" I inquired.

"Umm, I don't know, maybe hours, I only woke up a bit ago," Dipper replied.

"I mean, what happened Dipper?" I said, "I've seen crazy stuff, but this definitely tops all of that,"

"It's a long story," Dipper sighed.

"Well, seeing there isn't any exit, I've got time,"

Dipper took a deep breath and sat down, "Okay, basically there's an evil demon triangle named Bill. He's been torturing Mabel and I all summer,"

"Oh trust me, I know what that's like," I said thinking of Star and I's stalker Ludo.

"He originally only existed in the dreamscape, but recently when my great uncle who I didn't know exist walked out of a portal, a rift was made," Dipper explained, "Bill wanted the rift since it'll let him enter our world which will of course lead to complete chaos, and I'm assuming he got ahold of it,"

"Wait, you're going to need to go back to the whole secret great uncle portal thing,"

"Marco! We don't have time! This could lead to the the end of the world!" Dipper exclaimed.

"Well your not the only one with monsters and demons tormenting you currently,"

"That's kind of depressing Marco, maybe you should seek a therapist,"

"Wha- no! I mean literally!" I said, "Being Star is a princess from another dimension-"

"She's actually a princess from another dimension?" Dipper said getting excited, "Oh I wish she could've hung out with Great Uncle Ford and I! Maybe he knows her!"

"...Anyway, she has a lot of enemies, who apparently can't ever leave us alone," I said, "To make matters worst, turns out a new enemy followed us here who's way worst then Star's original groupies,"

Dipper and I were able to ignore that we were probably about to face torture and death as we both exchanged stories of our strange events we've experienced. Of course our chat was cut short when the bars trapping us in this cage swung open.

Dipper and I stared at each other, our faces asking the same question, now what?
