A few days had passed since that day when Katie was in the closet with Colton. She hadn't stopped thinking about it since it happened. Thinking about the feeling of Colton's hand in hers, her head on his shoulder, how close she felt to him. She felt more comfortable around him and, in the past few days, she had built up the confidence to talk to him. The feeling of comfortableness seemed to be mutual. They had exchanged numbers and over the weekend they had been messaging back and forth nonstop.

On Monday morning Katie had been excited to get up and go to school to see Colton. It was unusual for her considering her typical morning consisted of procrastinating getting out of bed and mugging around sluggishly.

She got ready at an unusually decent speed and when she got downstairs she saw that she had 30 minuets before she had to leave her house. This left her time to make her lunch, eat breakfast, which typically consisted of a eating banana as she walked out the door, and play a little bit of one of her newest video games Breath Of the Wild.

Soon Katie left the house and started her walk to school. She put in her earbuds and turned on a Twenty one Pilots playlist on Spotify as she departed from her house.

While on her walk, Katie observed her outdoor surroundings. The sky was clear, a big change fromthe weather her town has been having recently. To her left there was two squirrels chasing each other. Katie assumed they were mates considering the current season of spring.

She had enjoyed nature for as long as she had remembered, especially in spring when the weather was decent and the animals were out to play.

Soon enough Katie was at school. She down at table across fro her friends Bailey an Kristen. Bailey greeted Katie and Kristen remained reading her manga on her phone in a oblivious daze.

Katie checked her phone and saw that she had two messages. One on which was from her mom and the other from Colton. She opted to open Colton's first. The message consisted of a meme and a laughing emoji. Katie chuckled to her self and proceeded to open her mothers text message. All that the message said was, I need to tell you something when you get home today. Katie found that a bit strange but decided not to read into it.

The bell rang signaling first period and Katie put her phone away and started walking to class accompanied by Kristen and Bailey.

Roughly seven hours later school was over and Katie started to walk home. On her walks home she walks for a little bit with her friend Anna then when they get to where Anna goes they depart. During the part of her walk home the topic of boys came up. More specifically Colton.

"I really think I'm getting somewhere with Colton." Katie started, " we've been texting and talking a lot and I think I'm getting to know him better and I'm not as nervous around him as I was."

"That's good. I'm happy you're getting out of your comfort zone and talking to him. I'm a proud mama bear." Katie gave Anna a weird look and decided not to question being a 'baby bear'. They arrived at their parting place and went their separate ways.

When Katie got to her house she dropped off her stuff on one of the chairs at the kitchen table, went to the bathroom, and started on her chores. About an hour later her mom got home. Katie greeted her mom with a hug and launched into a conversation about their days.

A few hours later Katie and her family sat down at the dinner table to eat. Katie sat next to her mom and across from her sisters. Both of her sisters looked almost identical to Katie when she was their ages. Tonight they were eating Texas shaped pasta which looked like Texas except obviously a whole lot smaller and in pasta form.

Katie started to eat her Texases when her mom started to explain the text she had received that morning.

"So I texted you saying that there's something I needed to tell you." Katie's mom started to explain, "Do you remember my friend Sarah and her son Warren?"

Katie thought for a second then said, "Yes I think so"

"Well they're going to be staying with us for a little while because Sarah found a job here and needs a place to stay while she looks for a more permanent place to live." Her mom said. Then she left a few seconds to let it to sink in. "Your father and I decided that we should let them stay here after they did the same for us right after we were married."

"How long are they staying for?" Katie inquired.

"I'm not sure. It could be a few weeks or a few months I don't know." Her mom responded.

"When are they getting here?" She asked.

"They should arrive in a few days." Her mom answered. "And in the mean time were going to need to prepare the house for their arrival."

"Where is everyone going to sleep?"

"Well I'm not sure yet we will figure that out tomorrow."

Everyone finished their meals and did their own thing. Katie went upstairs, played on her phone and computer for a few hours, did a little bit of homework, and got ready for bed. She got into bed and stared at her wall, thinking about life and stuff.
