The world looks different now. Dad's dead and it seems dark but there seems to be a light shining through. Summer. My mom and I are going to our old beach house again this summer. I'll see Owen and the rest of the gang back at water wizz, and I'll be able to pick right back up where I left off.

In the middle of the town square mom came to a stop at the red light. I looked out the window bored from the long trip up here. I look across the square and see Owen in his signature yellow firebird, with his aviators. I quickly lift my head from the window and looks at mom. She just silently nodded her head and turned back to watch the light. She's been like this since dad's death. She's gone silent and doesn't really care about anything now.

I got out of the car and quickly crossed the square, dodging other cars to get to Owen's. I ran around the back and jumped in the back seat scaring Own in the process "Owen!" I screamed as I landed with a thud shaking the car. He whipped around and started screaming hysterically.

"Aaaaaaahhhhhh nooo the alien planet of teenage girl is attacking me run for your lives!!!!!!!" he said pretending to panic. He started honking the horn repeatedly.  Making other residents give us the dirtiest look in the history of this small town.

He then suddenly stopped and turned around and said "welcome back kat" with his same laid back smile.

"Good to be back Owen" I said as I clambered over tothe front seat besides Owen  "Coming back to Water Wizz?" he asked as he started to drive seeing the light now green

"You know it " I say with the biggest grin on my face.

I had been working at Owen's water park since I was twelve. I snuck in there one day and he caught me. But instead of kicking me out and calling the police on me he just gave me a tour and then hired me even though I wasn't at the working age. So I was considered Owen's little protege. I just followed him around and just lounged around just as he did. But now that I'm 16 I actually have a real job there and get an actual paycheck.

This year was going to be a good year I could just feel it. As we started driving from the square I could see a kid in the car in front of us, who seemed about my age stare out the back of a station wagon at me and Owen.

He seemed bummed so I caught his eye and smiled at him. He then quickly turned back to the front of the station wagon with his back now to me. But I could see his ears turning the brightest shade of red. I smiled and shrugged it off maybe I might see this kid again. Who knows.
