Outta My Head

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My whole body still is beating like my heart every time I got a glance of her picture on my phone. It still hurts. Nothing happened after that reply aside from me crying it all out that night. I never felt miserable and helpless. Wanting to get comforted by those arms that made me long for security more than ever, the selfishness in me has surfaced. For the first time in my life, I know what I wanted.

“Pretty serious there.” Marichan commented laughing. “You’re kinda productive lately. Wanna get promoted early?” she continued chuckling.

“Funny.” I replied rolling my eyes as I continue on wiping the cups. “I’m just feeling bored with this routine work of ours. Isn’t there something else to do? Something fun or worthwhile maybe?”

“Wow.” Her eyes widened. “That’s new. How about joining my nightly routine?” she grinned.

“You have one? But I have part time—“

“Didn’t you just ask me of something worthwhile?” she frowned and sighed, shaking her head. “I’m trying to help you out, you see.”

“Haha~ sorry. So what was that?” I asked and her eyes glimmered while grinning at me.

--

“So?” she asked with her lips extended from ear to ear. “Yes?”

“Uhh~” My eyes rolls checking out the place, the people, and the ambiance. It’s totally different from my daily life and something I didn’t expect from Marichan. “So this is where you’re going every night?” She nodded smugly. “Sounds good to me.”

“Should I tell them you’re joining?” her words are coupled with a grin that suggests excitement and challenge.

Roaming around my eyes once more, the place is packed of people I don’t know. Of course, I would’ve known people from a place like this. It’s not that I’m a judgmental type of person but there are a few that I think I wouldn’t be able to get along. Though get along would mean going out in good terms for most, for me, it’s more of someone who’ll be annoying to my eyes and such. I don’t really make friends so easily anyway.

“Nyaro?” Marichan called for my presence which I guess have my mind travelled already far from where I am.

“Oh! yes please.”

Then there goes Marichan talking to a woman dressed so well with a white labcoat. She was smiling at glancing at me from time to time while nodding with Marichan. She must’ve known me by now. Aside from her, lots of guys seem to be checking me out as I feel their gaze checking me out. I feel like laughing out of nervousness. Majority doesn’t really care though. I kind of starting to love the place if no one would care what you’re doing aside from yourself. This is called a gym after all. A place to transform yourself into someone you wish to be, physically and also mentally. However, not many has succeeded since it requires a lot of discipline and conviction. And I am not here to fail.

“Ok, done.” Marichan’s excitement seems to be overflowing. “Wanna have a trial today?”

“We can do that?” I asked amazed.

“Eh? You really have no idea about these things?” funny, but she looks more fascinated than I am. She shook her head at dragged me to a place where cubicles with showers and none occupies majority of the area. “Get changed. I’ll make you love this place more than I do.”
