I stared at my girlfriend and the strange people she obviously knew. "Okay, what's going on?" I demanded. Annabeth looked at me apologetically. "Chiron and Rachel visited me in Camp Jupiter while you were at your mom and Paul's. I'm sorry, Percy, but they told me not to tell you. Rachel foresaw you trying to stay out of this conflict. You are tied to this prophecy, just like Nico and me, and these... other three."

The frizzy haired girl, Hermione, nodded. "We got a message from your girlfriend here, Rachel, and your centaur teacher about a month back-- in a rainbow, no less-- saying we needed to meet here. Harry decided we stop you on the highway. He misjudged how far away you were on the road, so you ran him over. We kind of improvised from there..."

I sighed. "You know what, let's start over." Looking at the new trio, I told them, "Hello, I'm Percy Jackson, this is my girlfriend Annabeth." Harry smiled, waving. "Hello, Percy, I'm Harry. Harry Potter. These are my friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger." Ron inclined his head a bit, and Hermione waved shyly.

I snickered a bit. "Weasley? Seriously?" I asked. Ron's ears turned beet red, glaring at me. "You got a problem with it, mate?" he challenged. My smile evaporated. "No, not really." Ron grunted, saying, "I thought so." "Anyway," Hermione glared at Ron and me. "We need to get out of the middle of the road. Harry, will you do the honors?" Harry nodded.

"Percy, will you pick up that broomstick?" He gestured to the broomstick on the ground, smiling deviously. Hermione opened her purse, pulling out two full-sized broomsticks. Annabeth's eyes widened in in shock.

"Incredible! The Hecate kids would kill to know how to do that!" Hermione grinned impishly.

"Percy, you and Harry will ride together. Annabeth and I will take this one and Ron," she tosses him a broomstick. "You ride better alone anyway," Hermione teased.

"I am a professional Quidditch player, Hermione. Put me on a broom, and I was born to fly!" I gulped.

"Umm, I'm sure you've been told by now, but my dad is Poseidon. The sky is a big no-no for me. Unless you got a pegasus holed up in that purse of your's, I can't go flying."
