I am not realy the one who made this story. This is originally from my friend Jamie :) HOPE YOU GUYS LIKE IT! ^_^

Summary: She was too stoic to care about her own feelings. But maybe, just maybe, the pain of a broken relationship would catch up with her to awaken her emotions.

--

“Let’s break up.”

And yet, he looked emotionally scarred.

It had been a week since Skye heard those words, yet they continued playing repeatedly in her mind like an addictive song. Her mind couldn’t dismount the memories no matter how hard she forced to. It was the time of year where merriment and school works clashed fatally with each other, and to think a girl like her would be distracted from those. Skye Kirkwood was inconspicuously broken.

--

The long-haired blonde was the epitome of a model student. She would walk through the halls of her school with her chin up, eyes sharp, and arms crossed. A book would always be seen with her, thus getting dubbed as the Bookworm President. The girl was respected, feared, idolized, criticized, liked, disliked – just like a prosperous student would have been. Teachers and little children adored her for the virtuous traits she held. Some girls idolized her while others talked behind her back. And boys feared her.

Her plethora of academic successes overshadows her real persona, causing her to be stereotyped as a nerdy do-good kid. They never took the time to uncover her other talents. If they did, they would discover that she was a musician, an artist, an actress, and not just simply the bookworm. They might find out that she was a horrible cook, that she too hot headed for her own good or that she dislikes sports and overexposed pop culture. And probably, they would be shocked to find out she had a ton of health issues concerning her respiratory system or that she often felt very lonely. People never took the time to get to know her. They barely knew that her seemingly perfect life and ostensibly amazing character had flaws that made her a definite human. If they had gotten to know her, they would find out that she hated people who judge her without knowing her story.

Maybe that was why she had a few fair friends. She had her father who loved her with all his willingness too. Sadly, his challenging job as a lawyer made him too busy at times. Her mother, who passed away when she was at the tender age of five, was a doctor. Her older brothers bullied her for fun, but they still share some amiable trust with each other. The Kirkwood family cherished the special yet rare times they spent with each other. Yet her dysfunctional family made her yearn for friends and she made some who were real and true. She had four crazy friends from Manchester who taught her how to be wild and made her enjoy her childhood. She had to leave Manchester when she entered high school, leaving her distraught. They communicated every day, yet she still feels the pain every now and then. In her new school at Florida, she met a couple of girls who, unlike others, had actual common sense and good senses of humor. She also had some guy friends. To top it off, she only had about twenty trusted friends.

Surprisingly, she managed to get a boyfriend. Skye was not a hopeless romantic, and barely acted out and about with her heart on her sleeve. And in some twisted way, she managed to get the boy she liked for three years to ask her out without showing much effort.

Now they were an odd couple indeed. He was a jock who constantly drawled on and on about basketball and his many “manly” interests. He tends to be clueless when it came to Skye’s feelings and thoughts because she was just that unreadable. It was a surprise that polar opposites like them ended up together. She would act nonchalant of her feelings while the boy would often act very romantic around her, often gazing at her emerald orbs that hid behind framed glasses before holding her hand to start walking home together. He’d goof around with her and sing mushy songs to her. Those were some things she wouldn’t admit that she liked, which in fact, she does. She loved the way he acted caring and sweet towards her. Her fear of rejection caused by a previous boy she liked faded because of him. She loved the way he called her heaven because her name rhymed with sky. It was cheesy but sweet.
