Chapter 11 Attacked By My Own Mother

I shuffled around on my bed nervous about what i had just envisioned. Jessica, my human friend was now running straight towards the entrance into Hell and possibly in danger. "we have to go after her." i said finally after a few minutes of awkward silence. Luna and Apollo looked hesitant, Apollo a little more than Luna. finally Luna spoke up "we will, but first we need to figure out how to deal with Lucifer." Apollo nodded. my mom suddenly swung the door open holding a tray of cookies, which was odd, because she never brings a tray of cookies to my room, actually she never bakes a tray of cookies like a cliche mother would do. "honey would you like some cookies?" my mom asked i looked behind her to see a small figure appear out of nowhere. my mother almost dropped the tray of cookies bumping into Luna and then saying sorry and that she didn't notice her. Luna and Apollo tensed when my mom came in the room, and they were dead silent. the small figure came in too and i instantly knew it as Austin the annoying devil in disguise. "hey, idiot." Austin said not even flinching as he said, and i know with my mother in the room i would be flinching if she ever caught me saying that. my mother turned around and left the room after setting the tray down beside me. Austin followed in pursuit. Luna and Apollo glanced at each other, which meant they knew something i didn't. "Jake, we need to leave now." Luna said urgently. "why?" i asked. "your mother, it's not her. and that little boy, he's not human either." Apollo said vaguely. i noticed in their eyes that they were speaking the truth, and decided not to risk it. we hurried downstairs and caught ourselves bumping into my 'fake' mother and Austin. my mother backed up and began transforming her skin turned purple melting her previous skin off and wings grew from her back with a diamond shaped point at the end of her tail. her teeth began to look sharper and more vampire-like. the creature hissed and began to attack me pinning me down. Austin's eyes began to glow a faint purple color and rushed toward Luna and Apollo so fast he looked like a blur pinning both immortals to the ground by their necks. "oh, i'm gonna love devouring you whole!" the female creature said. i tried to get up, but my strength seemed to be failing me. i started to be unable to resist some sort of feeling in my heart and then snapped out of it realizing i didn't have one (i don't mean physically). my gray and black feathered wings spread out giving me new strength and flung the demon up hitting the ceiling and falling next to me. Luna had sneakily used a nearby water source to make a rope of water bend and wrap around Austin's arms and make him let go of Apollo and Luna, and this was especially easy thanks to me distracting Austin with me flinging his partner. "Jake, that thing is an Succubus, you've ran into one it's male counterparts before!" Wix said popping out of my pocket. i didn't realize she was in there still. "come on." Luna said waving to me to hurry up. we ran outside, but i had a feeling we were going to have to fight sooner or later. Austin rushed out of the house and i grabbed for my sword pushed the button on the side of the hilt and quickly managed to shoot Austin in the shoulder slowing him down a few seconds. the succubus ran outside not realizing it was still day time, and she melted down to the fiery pits of Hell, or at least i hoped. "why does it seem like more demons are after me?" i asked Luna as we were running for our lives. "they see you as a threat more than the angels do." Luna said, although i could tell from her voice she wasn't exactly sure. we managed to lose Austin who i guess now had more of a reason to hate me. i looked behind us and saw someone walking down the hill from where we had just come from. it seemed as though we didn't lose Austin. i decided enough running away and grabbed my bow pressing a button as it changed back into a sword and charge at the demon. with one surprisingly strong swing full of rage i quickly disposed of the demon. black mist seemed to pour out of where i had swung at and floated up into the sky. Austin fell on the ground unconscious. after we laid Austin at the nearest Sheetz we decided to head towards the entrance to Hell. "Lucifer is still trapped in Hell, if he had to posses a body to roam freely then only his spirit has been freed. he probably can't travel too far." i said flying with Luna and Apollo on either side of me. Apollo had formed a cloud of smoke and fire and was using it as a ride, while Luna was causing water to lift her high in the sky over land. "then we better hurry, and that's probably what his plan is. a new war has been rumored to start any day now and i'm guessing Lucifer is leading one of the armies." Apollo said. "wait, back up, a war?" i asked, and this was news to me since i hadn't heard a whole lot about this. Beth told me both sides would be after me i didn't know what she had meant by that until now. "yeah, one between the angels of heaven and fallen angels or angels of hell." Apollo said. "Lucifer is definitely going to be leading one of those armies then, and it's not going to be pretty either." i said starting feel like everything was starting to make a little sense.
