After we had both showered and dressed, we went to Gabby's Buffet and had a nice breakfast before going to the hospital to see my father. Travis greeted us as we walked through the doors then took us the room my father was in.
"Why are you brats here? Didn't you get the message? I don't want anything to do with you. You are nothing to me." He snarled.
"Oh we know that. We just came to see how you were doing. After today, you belong to the police. Since I'm over eighteen, I'm going to stay with Ace. The house will be given to Travis, and your things will be put into storage." I explained to him.
"I'll be more than happy to take you in, if you want." Travis said smiling.
"I don't give a damn. As long as I'm away from you, I'll be content." He told me.
"If you hate me much, why did you keep me? You could have given me to the state and saved yourself the trouble." I stated angry at him.
"I have no reason." He smirked.
"You know what? I don't have time for this. Ace, we need to get back before your aunt arrives. Travis, we'll see you tonight at the ball." I said walking out the door.
"See ya later sis." Travis kissed my forehead then shook Travis' hand before going back to work.
"Let's go." When we got back the house, there was a car sitting in the driveway. A woman got opened the car door and got out of the car. She was at least five foot six, she had straight black hair, brown eyes and she was wearing a blue sundress and white sandals.
"Ace. How's my favorite nephew?" She asked as we got out of the car.
"I'm your only nephew auntie." He laughed as he hugged her.
"I know." She giggled as she let him go.
Ace walked back over to me and took my hand. "Auntie, this is my girlfriend Simone. Simone, this is my Aunt Cece."
"It's nice to meet you ma'am." I said smiling at her.
She looked at me for a second then scowled at me and turned back to Ace. "Anyway, I was hoping the two of us could catch up until your parents got home."
"Um, we have plans with her brother tonight. How about tomorrow instead?" He was looking at her with a raised eyebrow.
"Sure. Now, let's go inside and talk. I'll get my bags later." She said shooting a glare at me before walking off.
I don't know what I did to make her not like me, but I'm not going to let that between Ace and I. We walked into the living room and she pushed me slightly, causing me to fall forward into Ace who somewhow managed to catch me.
"Are you alright?" He asked, helping me up.
"I'm good." I replied.
He let me go and sat in the love seat. When I went to sit next to him, his aunt hurried and sat beside him. "So, are you ready for school to start?"
I had no choice but to sit on the couch across from them. Ace looked at me apologetically and answered her. "Not really. I just want to spend time with Simone and her brother. I know that when school starts back, we'll be to busy to really do anything together."
"Sheila, do plan on going college?" She purposely messed up my name.
"It's Simone, and yes I do if I can get a scholarship." I answered politely.
"You know, Ace has a trustfund. I bet he would pay your tuition, if you asked." She taunted.
I knew what she was doing and it wasn't going to work. "I don't want anyone to pay my tuition. If I cant get a scholarship, I'll get a job and save up for it." I said stubbornly.
"Auntie, why don't you go relax in your room for a bit?" Ace suggested.
"You can't get rid of me that easy." She turned back to me. "Why are you so interested in my nephew?"
"I like your nephew." I couldn't tell her I loved him yet. "He's the only boy to ever show interest in me, and he's smart, kind, sweet, and a great guy."
Ace looked at me with so much love in his eyes, it made me want to cry. I blushed and turned my head slightly, making him chuckle. I heard her scoff.
"That's not good enough. Why would he want to be with you anyway? You're not even pretty-" She was cut off my Ace's shout.
"Auntie!"
She kept going. "You're not even pleasant to look at. I don't know why he's so interested."
I felt my eyes start to water and she went on.
"Your mother wasn't even pretty." That struck a nerve.
"Auntie, that's enough!" Ace yelled at her.
I ran to the room I was staying in and slid to the floor after I closed the door. I could still here Ace yelling at his Aunt as I cried.
"How could you say something like that to her? You've been nothing but disrespectful to her since you got here and I've had enough of it. That girl has been through hell and back all her life. She doesn't need someone she just met telling her she isn't worth anything. I love that girl to pieces and I will not sit here and let you talk down on her. And you had no right to talk anout her mother. If you say anything like that to her again, I'll make sure to tell mom and dad why you can't come back." Ace told her.
There was a brief silence before I heard the front door slam shut. A few seconds later, there was a knock on my door.
"Can I come in sweetheart?" I opened the door for him and cried when he pulled me into his arms.
"I'm so sorry sweet girl. If I had known she would act that way, I would have told her not to come." He kissed my hair.
"It's not your fault. She chose to act that way." I said kissing his chest.
"Okay. How about we spend the rest of the day watching movies?" He asked kissing down my neck.
"O-okay." He laughed when I stuttered slightly.
He let me go and turned on the TV, then cuddled against me on the bed.
