Chapter One
Damn, I've got to stop smoking. Katherine thought to herself running at full speed towards her destination. She had everything she'd ever desired—except a man. It's not because she wasn't attractive. That she was. Hot. Desirable. Everything a man wanted. Like everyone else, she had a secret that you'll soon find out. She owned her own Real Estate company. She just had just gotten it up off the ground three years prior. She lived in a beautiful loft in Buckhead, furnished with nothing but the best. Katherine believed she deserved nothing shy of the best; which is why none of her relationships were serious. She had no interest in commitment. She wanted to live wild. Wild and free. Well at least that's what she thought. She would be twenty-seven in three months and had not been on a real date in a year.
"Hey, Kitty," Tyesha, her assistant and best friend, greeted.
"Hey, boo. What's up?"
"Girl," she said with a look of exhaustion on her face "You have to stop giving these men your business line!"
"I apologize. I can't risk giving someone my cell or home number. You see these curves gal!" Katherine laughed giving her friend a love tap on the shoulder.
Walking into her office she inhaled the aroma of Chanel. She had Chanel personalize some reef diffusers for her office. She had ties all over the world. She stood in front her floor to ceiling windows and pushed a button on a remote. Five of the windows slowly turned into mirrors and on cue soft jazz music caressed the office. She admired her body in the mirrors. Although she was only 5'2, she had the perfect body and was not anywhere near fat. Her thoughts were interrupted by her phone ringing. She walked over to the phone. It was blinking purple, indicating that it was a transfer from Tyesha.
"Yes," She chimed.
"It's Jerome, girl."
"Put him through," she stated, annoyed.
"Katherine Martinez."
"Hey, Kitty. I miss you. Why haven't you called? Why haven't you returned any texts? Baby, I know you said you didn't want to commit, and that's cool or whatever. But you can't just leave me high and dry like that, baby. You're like my favorite drug, girl," he spat in one breath. Katherine let out a gut busting laugh.
"Boy, you are crazy. I'm free later tonight. What are you up to tonight?"
"I'm free for you anytime. I'd clear my schedule for you any day."
Out of all her "play toys", Jerome had a special place in her heart. He was the only bad boy in her batch. He stayed out of the country on "business" trips, but Kitty wasn't crazy. She knew by the golds in his mouth, immaculate locks, gold chains and blinding rings that he was a dope boy.
She didn't care though. He gave her the world. He paid for the pink and black matte Tesla Model х that she drives.
"So what time should I pick you up?"
"Well it depends on where we're going. I have to make sure I don't have to go shopping beforehand," she said hinting she wanted some money. Just then she heard her phone ding. A smile spread across her face. She knew that he deposited money in the account he set up for her.
"I'm not sure. Go get you something fancy, babe."
"You get on my nerves. That's why I fuck with you, boo. I have two meetings today and hopefully everything will go as planned."
"That's great, babe. Just call me when you're leaving out."
"OK, gotcha."
She pulled out her makeup bag and touched up her makeup. Applying a thin layer of Mac Prince Noir, she got up, grabbed her portfolios and headed out the door. She was excited for her date Jerome.
