"Anything off the trolley dears?" the lunch trolley was at the door and a friendly, smiling lady looked in.
"Packet of Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans and a Pumpkin Pasty and a Chocolate Cauldron and a Cauldron Brew with sugar." said James immediately. Remuslooked at him in fake horror,
"You can't eat all that, you'll explode."
"Watch, I bet I can eat more!" cried Sirius.
"Are you challenging me Mr. Black?" hissed James, a manic grin edging onto his face.
"I smell a challenge," cried Sirius clapping his hands.
"I'll have two Chocolate Cauldrons and three packets of Berty Botts Every Flavour Beans and some Pumpkin Juice."
Remus looked up,
"I'll pass," he said quietly.
"Nonsense, what do you want?" asked James instantly.
"Ee... I like chocolate," said Remus weakly.
"Two Chocolate Cauldrons and three Chocolate Frogs and some Pumpkin Juice," ordered James.
"I can't eat all that!" hissed Remus aghast.
"Oh yes you can," said Sirius firmly, "and if you can't eat it all, I will."
Remus laughed, "I'll manage," he assured Sirius.
"So what is our first prank going to be?" asked James after half and hour of happy munching.
"We haven't even got there yet!"
protested Remus.
"That's why we need to start planning," answered Sirius firmly.
"We could charm the great hall door so everyone who goes through it gets pink hair." suggested James.
"Do you know how to do that sort of magic?" queried Remus sceptically.
"No," admitted James, "but I'm a fast learner."
"We could..."
Remus sat back in his chair and closed his eyes, for the first time in his life he had friends, whatever happened they could not find out about his condition. Remus' hand reaches up to trace the longest scar, that ran down the back of his neck and onto his collar bone. This, at least, would remind him what he was, he couldn't get carried away.

Sirius sat up with a jolt. The express was slowing down.
"James!" he crawled over and shook the other boy awake, James' hair was rumpled and his glasses askew.
"Remus," Sirius grabbed his shoulder and shook hard.
"I'll get you, I'll catch the snitch!" James sat up with a jolt and looks around.
"Merlin, we must be nearly there and we're not even in our robes yet!"
"Merlin's biggest, baggiest, Y- fronts you're right!" cried Sirius in alarm.
"I'm already changed," smirked Remus cheerfully. "Run along now, you don't want to be late."
"Oh quit the smug attitude!" howled Sirius in fake exasperation.
"I only just met you and you already annoy me."
Remus just laughed and James and Sirius left the compartment laughing too.
Remus pressed his nose against the cool glass of the window. Outside it was pitch black but he could imagine the school, with its many turrets and towers, and roaring fire places ready to welcome them. As he squinted a sign came into view along with a low red bridge and a platform. They had arrived!

Remus stood shivering on the platform. He tried to heat over the roaring rain but it was almost impossible. As he turned desperately for a sign of James or Sirius someone else came up and put a hand on his shoulder.
"Alright there midget, you look lost." A tall, dark haired boy had appeared out of the mist and was smiling down at him, another boy stood beside him also smiling.
"Welcome to Hogwarts," said the second boy, "you want Hagrid, he takes all the first years up to the school. He cupped a hand to his mouth and yelled: "OI Hagrid!"
A giant of a man came stomping up to them, shaking his wet beard and hair up of his eyes he looked Remus up and down and said
"'Ello Gideon, Fabian, what's that you got there."
"Firsty 'Agrid," said Gideon. "Lost, told him to look for you but then Fabian got you over.
"Alright, thanks both of you, I'll take him from 'ere." Hagrid clapped a large hand on Remus shoulder so hard that he actually buckled under the weight and steered him through the crowds thronging the platform and down towards a circle of boats lying in a cove below the station. The other first years followed looking terrified.
"In ya all get," boomed Hagrid. "Three to a boat, that's right, that's right."
"Wotcha," James and Sirius appeared behind him and Remus exhaled in relief.
"We were looking everywhere for you," said Sirius. "Thought you'd died."
"Let's get a boat!" crowed James impatiently. "I want to see Hogwarts!"
