“School?” Rice’s eyes widened at Zion. I just looked at him, feeling my jaw drop to the ground. Rice and I have been schooled inside the orphanage. We learned A, B, C and one, two three’s inside the orphanage with other orphans. But mingling with real high school students, I think it kind of sounds fun.
Zion nodded, handing us two hangers where our uniforms obviously hung. I looked at the uniform. It’s quite cute if I must say. A black coat matched with a long-sleeved shirt with a red tie and a red skirt that is an inch above the knee. The black coat amazes me because of the softness appearance it shows along with the bloody red stripe on the side and on the logo is a rose.
Rice jumped at Zion, giving him an extreme bear hug. I felt a lump on my throat as I saw Zion’s hand rest on the small back of Rice.
“Yeah, it’s pretty much fun, isn’t it, Rice?” I yanked Rice away from Zion without my consciousness. I don’t know what’s gotten into me but I want to stay Rice away from Zion.
Whether I am being protective to Rice or worst—I am being possessive about Zion.
“Zion-nii, are you also studying at this school?” Rice’s eyes sparkled as she looked at her enrolment form.
Zion nodded with a gentle smile, making my stomach do some somersault.
I averted my eyes when Zion’s eyes met mine. I tried to focus on the application form I am holding but his intense gaze at me made me feel conscious and queasy. His ghost cold fangs appeared once again on my neck, sending down shivers and hotness on my body.
“I can’t wait for tomorrow!” Rice exclaimed, turning her full attention at me. I tried to regain my composure but through the peripheral of my eye, I can still see Zion’s gaze at me.
“Um, yeah. Me too.” I forced a smile at Rice. She jumped and squealed. Even though Rice is already a teen, she somehow acts pretty childish.
“Mars?” Zion called. I flinched, slowly trying to look at him.
“Y…Yeah?” I managed to ask as I try to search for my voice. His intense gaze made me wet already. The ebony eyes of his returned and covered the blood red that I saw last night. Zion didn’t left his gaze at me as he smiled, “Can you please help me with something upstairs?”
I felt a stream of electricity and heat inside my body as he spoke the words. I fear that he’ll do what he did to me last night. A part of me wants to experience it again but a half of me wants to avoid Zion’s touch and gaze.
“Rice and I can help you.” I faked a smile, nudging Rice at the side, “Right, Rice?”
“Eh? But Zion-nii asked me to do something, too.”
“But…”
“Is something wrong, Mars?” he emphasized my name with passion along with a small lick on his lips.
“N…Nothing. I’ll head upstairs and get done with it fast.” I mumbled, excusing myself from Rice and Zion. Deep inside me, I am hoping Zion wouldn’t follow me in an instant. His near presence next to me makes me feel the shiver all over my body as I remember those bloody red eyes of his.
I ascended the stairs, feeling the claustrophobia crept inside of me as the darkness greeted me.
My eyes adjusted from the bright to dark room that I just saw earlier. I rested my hand on the wall, trying to find my way to the room that Zion said. I felt a cold feeling creeping up my nape, making me turn around and gasp.
