I had been walking for a whole day, numb and cold. I recalled a nearby village my Mother used to visit. She was always so full of love. She would meet with people and hear them out about their concerns. She would do everything in her power to aid them.

Then I remembered the elder of the village, Thomas. My Mother brought me to his home a couple of times when I was very young. I was desperate and decided to make my way to his home. Guards were every where searching for me so I stuck to the shadows. I arrived at his cottage and knocked on the door. A girl answered the door and she seemed to be my age. She had long brown hair and green eyes.

      "How may I help you?"

      "Is Thomas home?"

"Yes, please come in, he will be with you in a moment"

The house seemed bigger from the outside. The scent of carrot stew filled up the house and a huge fire lit the whole house. Then a little old man came into the room.

    "Hello, my name is..."

Than he interrupted me.

"Oh, I know who you are"

    "Oh Okay"

"Yes, your Mother brought you to visit and she always talked about you. They were fantastic things and she was very proud to have you as a daughter"

     "Thank you"

"Now, what can I do for you child?"

"A witch has taken control of the Kingdom and she wants me dead"

"Well you're very blunt now aren't you"

"Yes sir and I will return in time to defeat her, but I have no idea what to do"

"Where is your Father in all of this?"

"The witch has put a spell on him so she can control him"

Thomas rubbed his hand along his long white beard. He was silent for a bit and then he spoke.

"There is a empty house a couple miles from here, it will provide you shelter until you are ready"

   "How long we talking?"

"Fulfilling your destiny will come in time child, for now we must be patient"

Thomas invited me to stay for dinner and after I made my way to my new home. The house was small, but in the inside it was huge. Two bedrooms, a living room, and a kitchen. It was perfect and right when my head touched the pillow, I was out. I slept for two days until I was awoken by a knock on the door. It was Thomas with some food and cleaning supplies. Behind him was the girl that had answered the door when I had came to Thomas' home. She introduced herself as Thomas' youngest daughter and her name was Julia. She came around my house a lot to visit, Thomas was worried I would get to lonely out here. Julia was a very curious girl and asked a lot of questions.

   "What was your mom like?"

"She was very kind to everyone she came across. Everyone loved her and she always told me to do the best I could. My step Mother was nothing like this and we always fought. She struck me once and my Mother would never have even thought about doing that"

"She sounds even worse than the stories I have heard over the years"

"She is and she will do anything to find me"

"What do you think she will do if she finds you?"

  "Kill me"

"What would you do if you if you ran into her?"

  "Kill her"

Julia looked surprised at me, but I would kill Demetria if I had the chance. She took over my Kingdom, turned what was left of my family against me, killed Max, and probably torturing Ryder. I needed to get back, but I still had so much to learn before I could return. I know Demetria will not kill Ryder because I will return for him and when I do she will be ready. If I was going to save him I also needed to be ready. I needed to start training and Thomas gave me a bow to practice with. I went into the woods and collected logs to use as targets. I practiced everyday, all day, until I hit the target in the center no matter where I stood. I did this on repeat for many weeks which turned into a year. Demetria had sent out thousands of guards to find me, but I was never spotted.

The guards had been to my house multiple times, but I put a trap door in the bedroom and would hide under the house. I did take up a new job throughout the year. Demetria started to put villagers to death because no one was giving up information about me. The people were loyal to me and therefore I will not stand by while they are tortured. Every execution I attended and put a stop too. Obviously I couldn't let the people know who I am, so I worse an old brown hood Thomas had given me. Under that I wore a scarf, Julia had made for me, around my mouth so they could only see my eyes. The executioner would be getting their blade ready and my arrow would fly through the air. The arrow hit right in front of the executioner's foot.

"Hey! Let that man go! He did nothing against the law!"

"How dare you speak out against the Queen's demands!"

  "She is not our Queen!"

This creates a stirring in the crowd and the executioner speaks.

"I would not pick fights when your aim is off fool!"

"That was a warning shot and the next one will not be so forgiving!"

  "Guards get this imbecile!"

Four guards start making their way towards me in the crowd and it's just what I expected. I send out another arrow hitting a guard in the eye. The other three are now close, so I throw my bow over my shoulder and pull out my sword. One comes at me and I slide to the side. The guard ran right into another guard and one if left standing. I grin under my scarf and make contact with his sword. I over power him and hit his helmet with the bottom of my sword, knocking him out. The executioner lifts his blade to kill the man, but I am to fast and sent an arrow straight into his heart.  The villagers started to cheer and I started to make my way home before more guards showed up. Before I could make it out of the village the man I saved ran up to me.

"Thank you! Thank you! How can I ever repay you?"

"That really isn't necessary, please I must go"

"Please may I know your name? We must have a name for the brave warrior that has saved so many of us!"

I thing about this for a second and the dangers I will face when Demetria finds out someone is openly defying her. If this is the time for me to start fighting back and making my way back as Queen. Then I look into the villagers eyes and see something powerful and reassuring, Hope.

  "You can call me Star"

He smiled and turned to the rest of the villagers.

"Star, the brave warrior that fights for the innocent!"
