Shmriti is Sanskrit for memories
-----------------Memories - The twists and turns in my mind
I remember her - a matron clad in serene white
Shmriti, our lady with the lamp
Made me gasp and my eyes lightThe pricks, the bitter drops and the pain
Was far my future gains and mane
I made gates, trains and planes
With the gifted coloured lego gamesYears flew past and I grew fast
On a regular Sunday evening stroll
I saw Shmriti, she made my eyes still
Thrashed, beaten for lifting shopsI ran and wrapped her around
She slapped me, bit me and pushed me
She fainted on my arms
Tears rolled down my cheeksNext day, rays criss-crossed her face
The Sulci and Gyri of her brain
Are turning tides against her in vain
Her memories fading day by dayI wished her to stay and stay
To let her watch my graduation day
But god left us with Smritis - her memory rifts
The Shmritis, my Littmann is her gift.-Gokul Syam
