Ivy Rose is a great flowerist and her flowers are her family, her life. She loves her plants more than the world. To be protected in a city of witches and vampires, she helps Marcel - the king of New Orleans keep the werewolves out of the streets with wolfbane. She doesn't care, sure she feels bad but she needs to be protected too.
And Marcel always keeps his side of the deal and has vampires always making sure Ivy is safe and her plants. Marcel doesn't understand his friend's passion for her flowers, no one does and Ivy doesn't expect him or anyone to understand. She doesn't talk of her past, she keeps her dark secrets to herself. The horror of her past is one she wants to keep hidden.
But now the Originals are back in town, Ivy doesn't want to get involved - wanting to keep to herself and be with her plants. But that isn't the case, she now has the romantic vampire Jace Mikealson after her and he plans to get her out of her shell.
