The next morning, Mitch agreed to let Scott take Scarlet out so he could try to earn her trust.
Scott walked with her through the park, sighing in pain as he sat on a bench before helping her up. "Did you leave on purpose?" Scarlet asked softly. "I would have never left you if I had a choice, I promise." He assured. Scarlet nodded and looked down at her lap.
Scott sighed after a moment and faced his daughter, "I promise you, Scarlet, I will never leave you or your daddy again." He whispered. "Pinky promise?" She asked as she held her finger out. Scott smiled and wrapped his pinky around her little one, "Pinky promise." He whispered kindly.
