The Osmium Dynasty

"My daughters, I am ten years old now. My life is coming to an end but, it has been a prosperous lifetime" The Osmium King said with a voice that crackled like thunder throughout the halls of the Osmium Court. The brood mother, Taox who watched over the princesses witnessed them slowly walk towards their father who is beckoning them towards him. "Some day you shall rule over the Osmiums Aurash, Xi Ro and Sathona, but there is something you must know" The sisters stared deep into their father's three glowing eyes fearing their father's death and not being prepared to rule their people. He pulled his arm up and points to the massive gas filled clouds that covered Fundament's sky. "I have predicted a terrible event brewing above our atmosphere, the Syzygy. When the fifty-two moons align a wave of destruction shall sweep over our beloved home we have carved out from nothingness and envelope all that lives, that breathes, all that exists" The king says. 

Taox swept away from the king and the sisters unbeknownst to them she was a traitor. Taox, the mighty brood mother didn't believe Xi Ro, Sathona and Aurash were fit to rule over the Osmium Dynasty and so she sent out a message to the Osmium Dynasty's most hated adversaries, the Helium Drinkers. The message read "My kingdom will fall if the sisters are crowned. Come attack the King, I shall deal with the sisters myself" The Helium Drinkers obeyed and launched an assault on the Osmium court. The sisters who were learning powers and tricks from the other brood mothers darted to the king's observatory. Above the king's body, Taox levitated with a blood-stained knife in one hand. Being unable to match her speed the traitor billowed away. With the king's final words he said "My daughters, you must protect our kingdom and you must fulfil your dreams, Xi Ro of becoming a great knight, Sathona of birthing armies that shall protect our people and Aurash to become a loyal and mighty king" The sisters fled on a ship that they had stole from their ports but not before Sathona picked up her father's familiar, a pale white, dead worm that had been washed up onto the shores. 

For days they flew across the boundaries of their kingdom before finding an ancient ship. Xi Ro proposed that they should take the ship to Kahan Atol and sell it, with that money they could hire mercinaries but Sathona said it was worthless, Aurash recommended that they fix it and sail across the ocean in search of new power. Aurash's idea stuck with the sisters and in around three years the ship aptly named "The Needle" for its needle-like cockpit was fully operational. For years they sailed across the ocean that covered the vast majority of Fundament's surface"Sisters I propose we seal a pact of vengeance for our father" Aurash said triumphantly puffing out her chest. With a knife, they cut their left hands in between their two digits and joined them together. "We create a pact to avenge our father and slay the traitorous brood-mother, Taox" Sathona said with anger fuming in here eyes.

A few months later

"Aurash, Xi Ro, my sisters I have grown clever, this worm that acted as our father's familiar whispers to me, It speaks of power in a place called the Deep" The sisters stared at Sathona with intrigue. "Where is this Deep that it speaks of? Dear sister of mine" Xi Ro enquired as she looked up at the worm her sister held. "Let the worm guide us to the place that is promises power" Aurash said. Aurash peered over the vast abyss into the Deep and said "We dive" with that phrase they dived down deep into the ocean of Fundament
