"What's wrong?" Jace asked. He gently played with her hair. And so Amethyst told him everything about her parents' forbidden love, her mother's exile, her crazy Aunt Amber who set her up and her mission that could either save or destroy the world. And he listened intently, taking in every word. And before Amethyst could wipe her tears away his mouth crashed onto hers. Nothing had ever felt so right to her. He was like a magnet pulling her closer. Her instinct was pushed aside and her heart took control, kissing him back with everything she had.
"I know we just met, but it feels like I've known you my whole life." And so she lay on his bed staring at the ceiling wondering how life could be so cruel yet so rewarding at the same time.

"Princess. I see you've made your first destination."Queen Amber.
"And why do you care? You set me up. You lied to me. There never really was a prophecy was there?"
"No." She looked down.
"Wow you look upset for once Amber. When were you going to tell me that I have a month to do this and that if there is a war people's lives are on me."
"I thought it was clear that you move as fast as you could. And you never would have done it if I told you."
"You're right. I wouldn't have. But at least I'm honest and I didn't lie to you."
"That male isn't good for you." She said, averting the topic.
"How would you know. You don't even know him." Neither do you, her inner conscious told her.
Amber scoffed "I was once a fool. Beautiful and worthy. I fell in love with a man, but my sister, your mother stole him. She stole everything I had."
Her words dropped of venom. If I didn't know my way around her manipulative words I would've felt sorry for her.
"Is that why you ratted her out when she married my father? Because cast is important isn't it. Cast comes before love."
Everything Amethyst had been holding within her was coming out tonight. All the tension between them was slowly unraveling word after word.
"Your father was my first love Amethyst. And your mother stole him from me."
Amethyst was at a loss for words so she didn't say a word, she tried to process this information, and before she knew it Amber was gone and she drifted on to her dreams.
