Fingers slide over keys,
the vibration that fills my head,
and pours into my veins.
I know exactly what you'd say,
like I've downloaded,
an image,
that speaks without words.
I want to share,
and to believe that it never happened,
that if I wandered away,
I'd find you,
waiting for me to play.
It's so very hard,
because I never knew how much I cared,
until you became something in my head,
things I wish you knew about me,
and I don't know if this is real,
but the reminder of your notes,
circles and jokes,
and my skills,
those conversations were my escape,
and so much I wanted to say,
to show,
you were going to be my mentor,
and you have been,
I want to keep going for you,
live up to what you imagined me becoming.
