Stephanie pressed her forehead stressfully against the steering wheel of her car. "Okay, you're the one who is dragging me along sister." Syd rolled her eyes at her best friend's stomach ailing demeanor of attending her law firms' Halloween Gathering.

"I know, I know. I don't even know why I let two other people persuade me to go. I don't even celebrate Halloween." Steph pouted, picking up her head she forced the home button on her phone and waited the time pop up. Doors open at 8 and it was already 7:50, Stephanie had no time to spare to mentally prepare for Rowland's antics tonight.

"Well you are tonight, does my cat eye makeup still look matte?" Syd fret while looking into her small pocket mirror. Stephanie glimpsed in her direction her and hummed in agreement. She had decided to be left eye from TLC, in honor of her favorite female RnB music group.

"I guess we should head inside soon." Stephanie made an endeavor to alter her mood but just couldn't confine to the atmosphere. Syd busily pressed powder over her already matte face and ignored Stephanie's comment.

"So is that guy going to be here?"

"What guy? Rowland?" Just saying his name made Stephanie frustrated, she abhorred his determination that he withheld to get her attention or conversation. She couldn't repudiate the long night they shared months ago was refreshing, but taking into account she had a couple drinks in her she couldn't have realized her actual demeanor.

"Yes him heffier, acting like you don't know who I'm talking about, you really must be out of it."

"Syd! I am not out of it, I just, I really don't want to be around him. All he does is flirt and dissemble that he cares about my personality. Men like him are only suggesting that they are riveted what's between the legs—not the woman themselves." Stephanie knew her morals when it came to men after dealing with Reb. She noticed Rowland was little but not much different from Reb, she wanted to stay far from him to keep herself in good spirits.

"You don't want a sex life, is that it?" Syd checked the time on the illuminated dash and swiftly applied another coat of her dark fuchsia lipstick.

"It's definitely not a priority, or something I'm looking to have right now. I want a degree in the profession I want to accomplish sooner than later, then I'll consider it. I actually-"

"What happened to Andre? He seemed nice." She interrupted.

"Really?" Stephanie asked startled, she didn't think Syd cared for Andre the slightest bit. "You didn't even like him Syd."

"Girl just tell me what happened?"

"He had to move into a homeless shelter. Jacob discovered that he was staying here without his name on the lease and told him to be gone within 24 hours. We actually haven't seen each other since a few weeks ago. We don't keep in touch like we used to." Stephanie gaped at a few of her coworkers enter the firm and wished Syd would hurry up.
