--PROLOGUE--

"Grell, you must keep quiet. My master's resting. Your singing will awake him, and Master Ciel doesn't enjoy being awoken early." Grell paused while singing on the Phantomhive's family room velvet chair and turned to Sebastian. "Sebas-chan, is that really why you want me to stop singing? Or do you not want to show much admiration torwards my singing?" Grell resumed, but hummed to himself softly. Sebastian turned to Grell, with a puzzled daze, then looked to his pocket watch. "My master's afternoon tea will be done in another half-an-hour. Hopefully you can keep yourself under control until then." Grell grumbled to himself. "Bassy, Ciel this, Ciel that.. Do you ever have anything else to think about?!" Sebastian stopped pacing and turned slightly towards Grell. "It's part of my master's contract. I stay with him until he ceases or until I'm not needed."

"Well.." Grell stood up off the velvet chair and walked to Sebastian. ".. You're not needed for another half-an-hour. So maybe.." Grell hugged Sebastian from behind and rested his head on his Bassy's shoulder. ".. We could put some use into this boring half-hour." Sebastian's eyes widened and he looked to his shoulder, where Grell's head lay, with that devious, sharped-teethed smile. "Grell.." Sebastian turned around quickly and grabbed Grell by his shoulders. Grell set the palms of his hands on Sebastian's soft, cold cheeks. "Well?" Grell asked, waiting for a reply. Sebastian put his hand over Grell's, and looked Grell in the eye. "I would enjoy spending my time doing activities with you, but I must prepare Master Ciel's afternoon tea." Sebastian removed Grell's hand from his cheek and hesitatingly kissed it. Grell blushed and nearly squealed of excitement. "Possibly later, Bassy?" He asked, intimidatingly. Sebastian looked back at Grell in the eye for a short second. "Possibly.."

"Master Ciel, your afternoon tea is ready." Ciel sat up on his bed. "That blasted fool kept me from taking my nap. Why do I keep him?!" Sebastian sighed in disappointment as he handed a tea cup and on a plate to his master. "Grell, he may be the most irritating fool we let into our lives, but he keeps the Phantomhive residence-". Suddenly, he heard glass break downstairs. "DAMNED WINE GLASS!" Sebastian heard Grell yell furiously downstairs. "-.. Alive, I assume."

Sebastian and Ciel rushed downstairs and saw Grell kneeling on the floor, sweeping up broken glass. Grell looked to Sebastian. "S-Sebas-chan! I-I didn't mean to-" Sebastian looked to Ciel. "Young master, you must wash up. I've prepared your bath. Your company will arrive in a few hours." Ciel walked back upstairs. He paused and turned back to Sebastian. "Sebastian, I expect that glass to be picked up and the floor clean."

"Yes, young master." Ciel turned back and walked upstairs. Sebastian turned to Grell. "What a clumsy fool, you are." Sebastian sighed. "And to think I'd make a butler out of you." He kneeled next to Grell and helped him sweep up the remaining shards. "B-Bassy!" Grell began to tear up. "I didn't mean to break it! I-I really didn'-" Sebastian put his hand over Grell's mouth. "Be quiet, you fool. You'll make my master angry. It was a damned accident. Or at least I hope. No need to cry and whale about one glass. We'll replace it." Then, Sebastian put his face nearly one inch away from Grell's. His face was red and tears had rolled down his cheeks. Sebastian uncovered his mouth and got even closer. "B-Bassy.." Sebastian suddenly grabbed The collar of Grell's shirt. "Don't call me that. My name is Sebastian. That's the name I live by. Now stop crying and help me prepare for tonight, or your stay will not be for much longer." They both stood up and Grell dumped the shards of glass down the garbage. Grell ran over to Sebastian and looked to see what he was doing. "I'm making dinner, Grell. Now, go grab me a pitcher of water. And the servants. They can't just lay around." Grell grabbed a pitcher and ran to the sink. After filling it up, he set it next to Sebastian and ran to the servants, who were located in the back yard.

"Finny! Cut that out! That be cheatin, you filthy scoundrel!"

"It's not cheating! It's a short cut!"

"Would you two be quiet?! I'm trying to enjoy my break!"

Grell never enjoyed the servants. They were all so disrespectful torwards him.

"Excuse me.."

The boys went on arguing and Mey-Rin continued reading her book.

.

"Excuse me!"

They all seemed to not notice him. Grell was now irritated. He walked over calmly to the chess board, and calmly picked it up in the middle of the boys' argument. "Grell, what in the Hell are you doing?! We were in the middle of a game!" Grell arched an eyebrow and looked down to the man. "Not anymore you're not.. Sebastian wants you, and company will be here in a few hours."

"Who died and made you the butler?!" Finny asked. Grell looked to Finny and smiled devilishly. Then, he threw the board in the fire pit. "Grell! Wh- Why I oughtta!!" The bigger servant went to grab Grell, but he was taken by surprise when Grell slapped him in the face with the back of his hand. "I believe you forget what you are threatening, my dear peasant. May I look at your life flashing before your eyes?" The servant looked Grell in the eye, trying to make a comeback. He looked down and walked to the house. Finny and Mey-Rin and followed him. Sebastian observed the whole situation through the window. "My," he thought to himself. "He was rather harsh. But he stood up to those clumsy servants. Becoming a fine butler, he is. However," Sebastian looked to his pocket watch. "there are many more requirements to being a butler than knowing how to control his servants. And little time until master's guests arrive."

"Boo!" Sebastian slowly turned his head to Grell, who'd been trying to scare him. "I thought I put you to work on the house." Grell jumped and laid his head on Sebastian's shoulder. "Did I do a good job, Bassy?" Sebastian smiled slightly. "Yes, Grell. You did. But there is much more to being a butler, I hope you know." Grell blushed and smiled devilishly. "What do you want me to do next, Sebby? Wash your dishes? Prepare the dinner? Trim the bushes into beautiful figurines?" Sebastian looked out the window. "I'm afraid not, Grell. You'll be with me, assisting with my chores." Grell began to get a nosebleed. "Oh, like wash your tidy-widies, Bassy?? Oh my!" he began to run in circles of excitement. Then Sebastian grabbed him by his hand. "No, fool. House chores."
