She laid there on the floor of the bathroom waiting for the end to come. The final hope of it all ending makes her feel warm inside. She could not wait for the end to come, it scared her, but the thought of the abuse she get in her very own home each day, and never getting out of the endless cycle scared her even more. Being all alone, no one to help her, she could not take it anymore she was done.
She stood up hearing a noise in her room. A little light headed, she looked at her arm not gushing as she hoped for, but trickling down was good for now. She slowly made her way to the door pushing her ear up against it.
“ I think we may need to talk, Lilly.”
Her hands started to tremble. She could not place the voice with someone she knew. It could not be her parents they’re out of town. She opened the door and tears flooded her eyes.
She could not see his face, but she knew who he was.
“My lord…” was all she said.
“I have seen your struggles. You have been through so much my child.”
“Then where were you? I don’t understand I prayed every night for you to help me I prayed each night not to be alone."
"I had, tried to help you my child. You turned away each time.”
“You did?" Her voice trailed off as memory flooded back to her.
She was at her high school locker shifting through the mountain of trash to finish an English paper due next period. She finally gave up trying to complete the paper. "Yet another zero" she muttered
"What’s wrong?”
She turned and saw her friend standing behind her. "Nothing Amy, I just can't finish my English paper.”
Amy held up one finger "One sec" She shuffled through her backpack. After a couple of minutes, she held out a two-paged English paper out to Lilly. "You asked if I could hold on to it. I think you would lose your head if it wasn’t for me.”
Lilly stood there as the memory faded from her mind. "You see? I would never let you be alone; you just pushed away what I gave you."
"Lilly... Lilly!" Amy yelled as she ran down the almost empty hallway. “Please wait!”
"What!" Lilly said spinning around.
“You can't be mad at me for what I did. You can't live like that"
"Who are you to tell me how to live?"
"I... I didn't want to see my best friend get beat to death! You think I don't see it? The extra make-up around your eye and how you suddenly started to wear long sleeved shirts? You may not want to do anything about it, but I can't just let my friend die!" Amy had tears streaming down her face. "Please... I'm going to pray for you.”
Lilly watched, "You're going to pray? For what? That I get taken away from my family? Come on Amy you don't know half of what’s goes on. I don't believe in the crap anymore. If there was a God then why am I living in this fucking hellhole! I had prayed for something to happen, that my family would change, but I guess I'm not important enough.
"He does love you Lilly; I wish you could see that!"
Lilly walked out, leaving Amy standing in front of the lockers.
Tears flooded down Lilly’s face like a waterfall. "I've made a huge mistake, I've crushed a precious thing you have giving me. I answer my prayers." truly thought I was alone in all this, but my Lord I was wrong, so wrong. You did everything went as dark as the midnight sky.
Lilly woke up in a bright yellow room, with a window open letting in a fresh smell of cut grass, she could hardly move, everything just hurt. She saw that her wrist had a white banged wrapped around it. Needles were stuck in her arm, that were attached to tube that had liquids dripping down from them.
She had been laying there when she heard the door open. Bracing herself for her mother to walk through the door, then soon got relieved because she noticed it was just Amy.
Amy's eyes got very big "You're awake! Thank you Lord! I thought I didn't get there in time!" Tears started to fall. "You're alive, I'm sorry that I told them about you. It wasn't my place to do that. I just hope you can forgive me.”
Lilly smiled the biggest smile she could form. "You are forgiven, I didn't know it at the time, but you were my answer to all my prayers. You're not just my best friend, you’re my sister.”
A woman knocked as she peeked her head in. "I heard voices so I guess she was awake." She said as she came in.
"Hi Lilly, I know its a lot to take in just now, you’ve just woken up, but I'm Mrs. Taylor, I'm a social service worker. Do you mind talking about what is happening with you and your family.
Lilly looked to Amy, and then Mrs. Taylor. “Not at all.”
(A/N So that's the end of this little journey. What did you all think about it? Did you like it hate it? Find it offence to it? I just wanted to say if you are considering suicide an option, PM me don't think twice about it, we can talk and all that, I'm good at being there for people.)
