Blindness

Well this is my second poem, it's not much, but you might like it, here we go!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Is it too much for me to ask,

To have you by my side?

To hold my hand,

To stay with me,

When all the light has died?

You smiled to me in school today,

I felt my soul ignite.

Chestnut hair,

Emerald eyes,

Radiating your light.

I sit upon this broken bench,

Autumn leaves dance by.

You laugh with friends,

You don't see me,

No matter how hard I try.

Your velvet skin catches the sun,

illuminating your face.

Fragrant scent,

Blazing gaze,

Immortalising your grace.

You glide like a bird, across the grass,

So elegant, so free.

I'm not like you,

I wish I was,

And still you don't see me.

Your smile is like a new day rising,

The morning breeze on my skin.

I close my eyes,

And breathe in deep,

Encasing your memory within.

As school draws to an end,

I ask you on a date.

You don't see me,

Only him,

Your boyfriend at the gate.

And as you reach to kiss his cheek,

I realise it's true.

My loving heart,

My loyal soul,

Will never be with you.

I was trying to express the loneliness i was fealing at the time of writing this. I'm sure there are many times when people will love somebody and for some reason, they can never be together

This poem, is for you.

The lonely people who have been hurt by love, you are not alone :)
