Hello everyone!
This time we are going to try a different type of competition. It is going to span over June, July, and August with a different prompt for each month. At the end of the summer, we will choose the top three poems for each category (at most) for a total of 9 poems.
So prepare for a great summer and feel free to give writing a few poems a try.
Rules (Same as last time)
No busting, no insults, no critique upon others
Or you'll be disqualified, sore poetry lovers
Word counts don't matter,
The sky is the limit.
But running off topic isn't latter,
So then we will cut it.
June Topic: Dreams
June is the month of imagination - the ability to image, picture, conceptualize, envision, and dream. For this month, write a poem about your dreams. Paint a picture - bring us into the inner workings of your conscious. What do you want for yourself? For your friends? For your family? For the world? What are your goals? What magical place do you want to escape to? (and yes nightmares can count too)

July Topic: DestinationSummer is usually a time for travel. For this month, write about a place that frightens you or a place where you feel happy. Try to recreate the feeling of the place. How do you feel there? Do you like to be there alone or with a group of people? What do you enjoy about that place? What do you not like about that place? Is it calming, stressful, energizing? What sounds do you hear there? How does it physically feel? What does it smell like?

August topic: Music
Summer is also the season of music festivals. For this month, write a poem inspired by YOUR song(s) of the summer. What do you like about it? How does it make you feel? What is the tempo? The genre? Is it by a long time favorite artist or someone new to you? Do you like the lyrics? Is it a well-known song or by someone that most people don't know?
Write the name of song(s) at the bottom of the poem.
