His arm snaked to the back of my neck revealing it, then exposed a part of my back to sense the grayish circles the guy left on my skin. I cringed at his touch, remembering the moments where he would beat me up till either of us was knocked out, and how my mom would just stand there helplessly. Everything is fresh in my memory, everything. Like it was yesterday.
"Why now?", I woke up from my dawn-dreaming
"Huh?"
"Why now? Why did you decide to tell me now? When was this?"
"Back when I was 5. I think they got bankrupt."
"But why did you not tell me before?"
"It's- I never liked to look back."
"But I'm-"
"You don't know half of me."
He sighed in defeat, knowing he wasn't going anywhere with questioning me.
"So where is he now? Away from all the luxury you guys are living in?"
"Are you kidding me? My mom kicked him out when I was about 9, and tried to get closer to me, but I was an ass then and I wouldn't talk to her, so she left me be.''
"You are not an ass!"
"Oh trust me, I am!"
"I won't argue." He joked
"Ha-ha"
"So at age 10, what was the last thing you cried about?"
I gulped. I knew this question was coming, I just wasn't ready.
"The guy died." I stated.
"But why did you cry? You hated the guy!"
"He did some dirty shit to my mother because she got married. I remember he came once to the place where me, my mum, and her husband were living at and he sort of robbed the place and left a note. I Think I still have it, wait a sec."
I got up from my place and looked in that drawer of mine, full of useless shit I shove in. I dug through my stuff and finally found that note.
"Here.", I said and handed him the piece of paper.
"You don't know how much I worth. I worth gold, I worth dimes. Expect me soon bitches x", Calum read. It got me back to that day, where he left his mark on all my walls, and sabotaged my room entirely. I loved that room, really.
"We had to move out since my mom was so scared he would come again."
"Where did you live back then?"
"Boston." I stated normally
"Wait then you moved out other states?", poor Calum.
"Yes. He caught my mom shopping once and tried to kiss her, but she was married. I was there, too. Boy no matter how much I tell you about him, you'll never know how much of an ass he is - well was." I corrected.
"He once tried to rape me, I'm not sure. But what I remember is that he undressed me and started to-"
"Okay, okay. I get it. it's starting to get disgusting in there."
"Sorry." I apologized.
"So what happened to the guy afterwards?"
"I think he died after we moved in here."
"You think?", he raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah, I think so."
He shrugged it off and gestured for me to continue.
