Amy's POV

I'm sitting by myself on a small, wooden bench. I don't really have any friends, so this is the daily routine for me. I watch  as groups of girls and clusters of guys pass without even a glance at  the loner beside them. What is it about me? Is it my out of control curls? My almond-shaped eyes? Or the fact that I'm adopted...?

I stop thinking about hatred and close my eyes - letting the warm sun surround me like an invisible blanket.

"Hey," a small voice says "is anyone sitting there?"

I look up: standing above me is a beautiful girl. She has locks of perfectly straight, cherry-red hair flowing around her shoulders, and the most piercing green eyes. I feel like I'm in a trance just looking at her.

"Hello? Anyone in there?" She giggles. Her laugh sounds like an angelic symphony in my head.

"Yeah, of course you can sit there," I manage to say "I'm just surprised anyone would  want to..."

After school, my a-ma-zing new friend (whom I discovered is called Kasai) and I walk down into town together. It was her suggestion of course, but even if she said "Hey, lets visit the sewage plant!"  It's easy to say I'd be happy.

"So, what do you want to do? I say we grab a coffee."

I turn my eyes  to face her and  am about to reply when I hear a sudden screech of tyres and the screaming of my name. Then a searing pain covering my entire body. My world is surrounded by darkness.

"Amy? Amy! AMY!" Kasai's voice sounds tuned out. I can hear her screaming: "Call an ambulance! Amy, please..." But i know it's too late. The warmth of my blood is slowly evaporating and I can actually feel my spirit drifting away. I know at this point... I'm dead.

Kasai's POV

I open a small Listening Circle, a type of spell that can stop time in an area for short periods. I look down at my lifeless 'friend' and place my hand on her bloody chest. A blue orb the size of a snooker ball rises from her body, and I cup it in my hands. "I release thee." I whisper, and the orb shrinks. I gently place it in the centre of my sapphire necklace, it glows in response. Slowly the listening circle recedes and time starts again. I start crying again and scream at the car's driver "YOU MURDERER!" And sprint off into the horizon; awaiting my next assignment.

Sitting on the swings at the park, watching little kids scurry past I start thinking to myself. "The life of a succubus, huh? Not that bad." I smile, green eyes glinting.
