Chapter Sixteen

Two days later Hinata was stuck on bed rest, with Neji as her personal nurse; Though, he did a lousy job as he spoke to his friend over the phone. "I heard we're getting a new chemistry teacher, while Kurenai is on maternity leave.
I think Ms. Sadoru is her name." Neji said as he talked with TenTen. Ever since she had been diagnosed with her concussion, her father didn't want her home alone, and though she tried to object, she couldn't stop her family from babying her.

Neji was doing too much, and restricting everything, as if he was were her father.
It was so suffocating that she wanted to run away. The sound of his laugh made her roll her eyes, while she wondered what could've possibly been so interesting, since their friends was currently in school. Honestly she just wanted her phone, and Neji had taken it because of the restriction he had. Getting up from her place on the couch, she walked up the stairs and into his room. Grabbing her phone off of his dresser, she powered it on and went in her room.

  A few moments later as the screen loaded, she saw that she had a few texts from Sakura, Ino, and Gaara, but none from Naruto. She was a little disappointed, but figured he was busy in class or something. As dense as Naruto is, it was expected. Sakura had text her saying coach told her to get better, and not to come to practice until she was cleared from the doctor.
With a sigh, she began to wallow in self pity, because she hated being home and doing absolutely nothing. She couldn't play volleyball, and she felt like was probably missing everything important in her classes.

"Shut up you worthless bitch!" Hiashi kept yelling as he pulled his daughter up by her hair.
"Father! Stop! Please!" She pleaded with him as he slapped her harshly, leaving such an intense sting that her face went numb.
"Shut up or I'll make it hurt more!" He said as he threw her on the bed. 
Gripping her pillow, she woke up to see nothing, but the shadows of the objects in her room. Her face was covered in sweat and her heartbeat was erratic. She took steady breaths to calm herself down, and put her hand over her chest. Looking at the time she saw it was ten at night, and she realized that her nightmares were coming back, though she didn't know why.

It scared her that her recent dreams hadn't been like the others. She had woken up sweaty and terrified the last three nights, and though wanted to talk to someone one about it, but she didn't know who. Picking up her buzzing phone, she smiled as a picture of Naruto kissing her cheek projected on the screen. Answering the phone, she said, "Hello?"
"Hey, Hime. How are you feeling?"
"Better, I've been bored all day though."
"I'll bet. Did I wake you up from your sleep? I just hadn't talked to you all day."
"Yes you did, but it's fine. I wanted to talk to you anyway." She said smiling stupidly.
"How was school?"

"Just the usual. That Gaara guy asked about you, I guess you weren't replying to his text. Sorry about not texting you by the way, Neji just said how you didn't have your phone."
She got a nervous feeling as he mentioned Gaara's name, "O-oh? What did you guys talk about?" He answered her with a bad feeling.
"Just about what happened to you. Are you sure you're fine? You seem a little off."
She sighed while running her fingers through her hair, "I just had a nightmare."
"Another one? What happened in it?"
"I keep having this recurring dream about my father abusing me. He hasn't done anything in over a month, so I don't know why I keep getting them."

Just as she said that, she heard someone stumble downstairs and her fathers voice. Getting up, she pulled on her pajama pants and made her way downstairs with Naruto still on the phone. "It's probably just the trauma, you know? But I noticed something yesterday."
What she saw made her feel a mix of negative emotions. There her father stood, kissing his coworker that she met days before. Clearing her throat, her father's eyes looked into her's, and she just turned around.
"What'd you notice?" She asked Naruto while walking back up the stairs, as her dad called after me. "Your dad, he doesn't remember me from the other night does he?"
"I honestly don't think so. I hope he doesn't though." She said while tears fell from her eyelids.
