"Sweetheart come her here for a second!"Luna's mom yelled from her echoey room.

Coming!" Luna yelled, pushing of all the covers and rubbed her drooping eyelids, ready to collapse back into her bed. She slowly climbed out of her queen-sized bed. She pushed her door open and adjusted her eyes to the slightly lit hallway. She walked to her mom's room and opened the cherry wood door.

"How did you sleep?" Luna's mom asked.

"Fine, that is until you woke me up." Luna replied, collapsing on the plush armchair opposite of the bed. She could hear her mom's phone softly playing Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go. She inhaled deeply to find the scent of freshly washed sheets mixed with her mom's coconut-orange shampoo.

Sorry that I woke you." her mom said, examining Luna who was trying to stay upright. "I have something for you." she strode to her dresser and took off the delicate jewelry book that sat upon the wooden top. She opened the mirrored top and pulled out a opal necklace which was shining like the sun. she fiddled with the gold clasp and draped the necklace around her daughter's neck, both of them content. Luna felt her jaw drop. Where did she get this?!? The awestruck girl closed her mouth and started to ask her mom what was on her mind, but her mom bet her to it.

"Your grandmother gave it to me." whispered Luna's mother.

"Nana Sheila?" Luna asked, cocking her head.

"Yeah." Luna's mom mustered. Nana Sheila had passed away two years ago. Her mom changed the subject, though.

"Go change into your clothes." Her mom said with a hint of strictness. Luna looked down at her comfy pajamas but agreed. She rushed over to her room and threw open the dresser drawers. What would a normal fifteen year old wear on a trip to the beach with her best friend. She changed into a flowing white tank top and leggings with a leather jacket tied around her waist. She opened her jewelry box and took out bangles. She looked in the mirror. Her wavy auburn hair a mess. She ran a quick brush through it and pulled it back into a ponytail. She took some hair ties from her brush's handle, just in case, and slipped them onto her tan wrist. She packed her bag, phone check. Earbuds, check. Sunscreen, check. Bathing suit, check. Towel, check. Sandals, check. Done! She zipped up the beige bag. She put some lip gloss on and walked downstairs, feeling very perky. She caught a whiff of savory crepes cooking. As she quickened her pace, the smell grew stronger. She immediately caught herself running to the kitchen table. She found a plate waiting for her on the marble counter top. The china plate held crepes filled with olives, mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes, goat cheese, and Gruyere. Another crepe filled with strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, sprinkled with sugar and a dollop of whipped cream on top. There was a cup of steaming black coffee next to it. She devoured the savory crepes like a pig, and scarfed down the sweet crepes. She took the warm cup of coffee and put it on the table next to the plush couch. Her mom came out of the bathroom, wearing jeans and a black t-shirt. I see you found breakfast her mom laughed at the whipped cream mustache that Luna had on. Luna licked it off and flipped on the tv. She channel surfed until she got to channel 45, which was playing a episode of Modern Family.

"Thanks for the show that I'm going to watch. I usually hate going all the way to channel 45, takes a long time." Luna's mom said.

"What?" Luna asked.

"You have to go to the beach with Daisy." Her mom replied, gesturing to the door.

"Oh.. thanks!" Luna said, kissing her mom on the cheek. She slipped on her Adidas and ran out the door. Left on brushwood, left on yearly drive, and... we're here. She rang the doorbell, and waited for Daisy to open the door. One one thousand, two one thousand, three one- Daisy thrust open the door and smiled. Both girls smiled, having not seen each other for the fact that Luna was in Paris and Daisy in Mexico, getting a tan.

You grew, like, three inches!" Luna exclaimed. Daisy gave her a classic seriously-luna-isn't-this-obvious look and pointed at her feet.

"Oh." Luna said, looking at the brown leather high-heeled sandals. A faint sound of clacking came into earshot. A tall lanky figure appeared at the threshold.

"Luna!" Daisy's older sister exclaimed.

"Hi... Olivia." Luna replied, obviously annoyed. The last encounter the girls had was at Trio Parks, an expensive resort. Olivia basically ignored everyone and took Luna's wallet. Olivia obviously caught the drift

"Sorry L, but look, I'm much more mature. I mean, I'm eighteen now. Oh, call me Via, Btw." Olivia laughed a sing-songy laugh, leaning on Daisy. The two actually mirrored each other, lanky, copper colored hair, sun-kissed, and green eyes. The only thing Daisy and Luna had in common, other than personality, was the fact that they had long eyelashes.

"Daisy, do you have your bag ready?" A slightly pudgy woman woman asked. "LUNA! You grew so much!"

"Thanks Mrs Smith." Luna smiled, blushing.

"Call me Molly." Molly said, with a slight Irish accent. Luna flashed a thumbs up and followed Daisy to the red Chevy parked in the cobblestone driveway.

"I like your necklace, it's really pretty. Where did you get it?" Daisy asked.

"Thanks, my mom gave it to me. It was from my Grandma." Luna replied, rubbing her fingers on the cool, opal pendant that she remembered she had on. "I actually just got it this morning, and I forgot I was wearing it." Luna laughed. The two climbed into the leather seats in the back and buckled up.

"Bye mom, Luna, Daisy!" Olivia said, blowing a kiss as the car zoomed off. Luna looked at Daisy and Daisy looked at Luna, sharing the go-much-faster look. As if Molly knew this look, she hit the pedal, the girls laughing as they rode into the distance, laughing, talking, and catching up on old times.
