The Princess and The Tiger
The princess closed her eyes, opening them when she heard the crowd gasp. The
bloody guard crawled his way out of the door. He looked up at the princess’s lover, reached
his hand up and grabbed the bottom of her lovers shirt. The guard pulls the lover down so
his face is right next to the lovers ear and whispers with his last breath “ The tiger has
escaped , warn everyone !” As the princess sits there next to her father, her eyes are locked
on her lover not caring about anything else.
She watches as he slowly gets up and turns around, their eyes meet for a brief
second before his eyes move to the king. The princess watches as her father tells her lover
to go to the next door with just one single movement of his hand. Her eyes quickly look
towards her lover as a single tear rolls down her cheek. She watches with anticipation as
her lover slowly turns around to face the other door.
The princess could see the fear he had in the way he walked. He reluctantly reached
his hand up and opened the door. The princess squinted her eyes and stood up so she could
get a better look at what was to become of her lover. Her hands flew to her mouth and a
blood curdling scream escaped her mouth. She looked straight at her lover and yelled
“Run ! ”. As he turned to run the tiger stepped out of the door with the beautiful lady
hanging out of his mouth, her blood dripped onto the floor. The lover started to run but
then the tiger did something that nobody expected. He walked back into the door. The king
stood up and screamed at the guards “Get that tiger back out here !”. The guards look at
one another and then at the king and yelled back : we can’t your highness, he’s gone !”
Before he could respond back he heard the tigers roar, it had sounded as if it was right
behind him.
The princess’s eyes widened, as did her fathers, they slowly turned around. It is
unsure how but the tigers face was only a few inches away from the kings. The king just
stood there in shock, not able to say or move anything, it was like he was paralyzed. Before
the king could do anything the tiger growled and swiped his paw at the king. His hands
immediately flew to his neck as blood sprayed out, going everywhere. The princess just
stood there, watching as her father bled to death. Once his bloody body had gone limp, she
rushed over to his body and grabbed his dagger. She then threw it at the tiger, trying to
aim it at his heart. The princess turned to run before she could find out if she had hit the
tiger with the dagger or not. The next thing she knew she was on the ground crying and
screaming. She could feel the tigers claws tear through the flesh on her back as she got
soaked in her own blood. She was too weak to try and fight, she just laid there weeping,
waiting for death to arrive and take her away.
Out of the corner of her eye she saw her lover, her heart lept with joy, she wanted to
call out to him but she felt to weak to speak. She watched him as he slowly made his way
over to her fathers dead bloody body, he reached down and grabbed his spare dagger that
was clenched in her fathers cold lifeless hand. Once the lover had the dagger he silently
crept over to the tiger and in one swift movement he slit open the tigers throat. The tiger
fell to the side as blood coursed out from his pulsing jugular.
When it had fallen the lover quickly ran over to his beloved princess, who was
laying in a puddle of blood. He could tell that the princess did not have much longer by the
amount of blood and her shallow breathing. He gently but rapidly picked her up bridal
style and rushed out of the coliseums to the nearest doctors. When he arrived at the
doctors, they rushed her to another room while he sat and waited patiently in the other
room.
After what had seemed like hours the doctor finally came in. He calmly walked
over to the princess’s lover, smiled and said “She is going to be fine, we were able to stop
the bleeding, give her a blood transfusion, and sew up all of her open wounds.”. The lovers
sad and worried face was quickly replaced with joy and happiness. The moment the
doctor had stopped taking the lover asked “Can I go and see her now?”. The doctor just
shook his head yes as the princess’s beloved rushed past him. Once he had reached her
room, he slowly walked to her bedside.
As he got closer he could see all of the blood soaked bandages. “Princess?” his voice
was shaky.
“Yes?” She answered, her voice weak.
“How do you feel?” the lover asked.
She chuckled slightly”Sore”.
He smile “I would think so, its not everyday you get attacked by a tiger.”
The princess turns her head and looks at her lover. “Thank you for saving my life”.
She says as tears well up in her eyes.
He steps closer and takes her hand in his own and wiped away a couple of a tears
that had fallen with his thumb. “There is no need to thank me beautiful” As the princess
looked into her lovers eyes, she couldn’t help but smile and feel happy. They just stayed
there looking at each other in silence for what had seems like 30 minutes. The lover smiled
and said “I love you so very much princess, there is nothing I would not do, just so I could
be with you” . Her cheeks go red with blush as her smile gets even bigger. “ I love you too”.
Her lover smiles, then gently kisses her hand, careful not to hurt her.
