"Dammit Cas, leave it alone!" I yell as he reaches once more for the angel sword I'm trying to practice with.
I've been moving around with the Winchesters for about three weeks now. Getting a hang of their way of life, and training to hunt. It beats running around New York looking for a shitty job. Now that I know the truth about angels and demons, and other supernatural beings, why not fight against them?
I think its weird, though, that the one reason they went looking for me was that they needed me to find the infamous Lilith/Michael super baby so that he can restore the balance of the world. Or the angels and demons, what ever. But they haven't told me anything other than how I'm the talisman to find the thing; I don't even know what he looks like. One thing I have learned, and perfected, is that I can make a veil. Similar to a curtain, that hides a demon or angels face from me so I can see the human vessel. I can do the same for monsters, which surprised even Cas. Apparently angels can't do that.
I've been trying to practice with an angel blade, but Cas has been trying to stop me for weeks now. His excuse; "We don't want her to cut herself with that blade." Of course, the next day, I proceeded to cut myself. By accident of course, I'm not dumb and I don't like being hurt. The incision didn't bleed, but bright light shone from the cut. Sam told me it was an angel blade, it did that to everyone it cut. Cas seemed to protest this fact before Dean clapped him on the shoulder and led him off to get a beer.
"Cas, I swear to God. You grab my arm again, I will shove this up your ass." I glare at the angel, threatening him with the short silver sword in my hands. The side door creaks open, revealing Dean. He tramps down the wooden steps and into the yard, his eyes drinking in the details of the confrontation.
"I'm pretty sure I'm the only one allowed to talk to him like that." He says, and I roll my eyes in his direction. Dean hates me. Sam had a sit-down with me after a particularly loud showdown between Dean and I, and informed me that Dean abhors the half angel, half demon child, because of the demon part. He sees me as a connection. He's probably not the only one who has questioned my connection with this creature.
"Cas, let me train her." Dean says, and I shake my head.
"Hell no. Plus, Cas isn't training. He's impeding. You'll probably stab me." Dean smirks.
"I would never." I glare at him, the sarcastic tone evident in his voice. "Cas is right here, what do you think I would do? Plus, I'm the good guy, I don't kill humans." He shoots Cas a glare; Cas drops his gaze to the ground and remains silent. I sigh and approach him, nervously fiddling with the angel blade in my hand. Dean glances to my hands before his eyes travel back up to my face.
"I'm not fighting you with the sword dumbass. I'm gonna teach you how to fight with your hands."
Two hours later Dean has managed to make a giant fool of myself. And in the process, taught me basic self defense and offence.
"You ready?" He asks, and I nod. This time, there won't be any teaching, only practice, so of course I'm not ready, but I might as well try.
He jabs his fist towards my face, and I manage to dodge it with a jerking motion. I wasn't ready his other fist lightly connecting with my ribs.
"See? you have to be watching, everything, everywhere." I scowl at him, sending a simple front push kick towards his chest. To my surprise, I send him flying several feet away, gasping for breath.
Dean comes back towards me, and the next few minutes are a blur as we fight. the seconds tick by, and Dean's face appears more and more worried as he applies move after move and I counter with maneuvers he hadn't thought me. Had Dean been prepared for the fact I seem to have found a long-lost knack for fighting, it probably would have been harder to beat him. But I caught him unawares, and before he knew what was going on I was choking him out. Suddenly I felt powerful, even invincible.
