When I opened my mouth to talk, my phone notified me that I had a new message.
'Who would text you at 5:20 in the morning?", Calum said rather annoyed. I held my finger up gesturing him to wait as I opened the text message.
"Fuck", I cursed under my breathe.
"What?"
"Look", I turned the phone so he would read.
*Hello muffin*
The message read.
"Oohh Kate's got a secret admirer.", Calum teased.
"Shut the fuck up, will you? It's kinda serious you ass." I cussed
"Sorry", he raised his arms in defense.
"So who's that?" He said breaking the silence that filled the place.
"Some guy."
"The guy?" His eyes widened.
"No, some guy. Stay out of my shit. I gotta go now."
"At 5:30 am?"
"Yes, there's somewhere I need to go. There's no way I'm staying here."
"And your mum?"
"She wouldn't notice I'm gone. Get out of the place and cover for me. Bye." I said as I put the essentials in my bag, slipped on a pair of red converse and grey sweat pants, then jogged downstairs. Sorry Calum.
Calum
She left me there, wondering wherever the fuck she was going leaving me clueless. Thanks Kate. I got up after she left and headed downstairs, careful not to wake mama, after I made sure i locked Katerina's bedroom door. The second I stepped out of the door, I received a text message from an unknown number
*Stay out of this, kid. It's bigger than you*
The text read
What the actual fuck is this?
I texted back:
*stay out of what? who are you and what do you want from me?*
I got an instant reply. Okay...
*I am the person who will turn your life into complete hell if you don't step away.*
I took a screenshot of the brief mysterious conversation and wanted to send it to Kat, but the second before I pressed the send button, I received a text message.
*don't send that, it's for your own sake*
Huh?
I dialed Katerina's number, hoping she would answer.
5 rings later she finally picked up.
"Heeyy", she slurred, or at least the girl who was supposed to be Kat. it doesn't sound like her.
Fuck is she drunk?
"Katerina are you drunk?"
"Hi uh sorry that was my friend." Phew.
"Where are you?" I asked
"Calum I need you to stay out of this, okay? Just, please. This shit is non of your business, you need to step away, you have to." She pleaded.
"Listen to me Kate-", I started.
"No, you listen to me, Cal. This is my problem, I will deal with it the way I have to. Stay away, go home, don't contact anybody, especially strangers. I need you to trust me on this one. Just do what I say for once, I've been doing what you tell me to for 7 years, please."
I nodded, but then mentally face palmed myself knowing that she can't see me. .
"Are you gonna be alright?"
"Yes Cal, trust me." And with that the line went dead.
I jogged to my car, and did what Kat told me to. After 30 minutes, I pulled over in my flat garage and went upstairs. I found the door.. opened? Was somebody there?
I slowly opened the door, with the wooden bat in a hand and used my other as protection as I walked swiftly and examined my flat. It was ... spotless. Just like i left it, but anxiety took over me.
"Whoever you are, show me your face!" I yelled in the most manly way I could. I was answered by silence, which creeped me even more.
Five minutes later I was convinced no one was there, so I just went to my bedroom and placed my phone on the nightstand. I walked to my bathroom to get a decent shower and clear my head, but something felt wrong, I looked around, and my thoughts were answered. On the sink was a note which lay neatly in there, folded with accurate linings. I grabbed it, and the content made my heart fall to my stomach.
*I can get you if I wanted to, so stay away. Far far away kido, you don't need this, listen to the gurl.
Expect me soon x*
Ouch. So he knows where I live, great.
My phone notified me that i had a text message. I dreadfully read the content.
*you can't find who I am because i am many x*
Fuck. No police will know about this shit as long as this guy knows what I'm thinking.
