Benny was frustrated. Although he was in a nice and comfy bed, he could not sleep. He stayed laying in bed until he heard weird chiming, that lasted a while. It startled him. What does it mean? He thought. He slowly pulled himself out of bed. He felt the same as before, only more dizzy. He stumbled over to the door and roughly opened it. The hallways were low-lit. As his eyes adjusted, he noticed that the carpet was green now. He figured they put in a new one. Silent and quickly. Nice. The side table was gone too, he observed. He looked around and silently whispered, "Hio?" He realized he sounded weird when he talked. "Hi-o" he whispered again.
"Hi.... ho?" Another voice said from around the corner. Benny jumped. "Oo, here?" He whimpered. A blue person walked around the corner and looked straight at Benny. He looks like me! Only with blue skin, goopy hair, and yellow eyes! Benny thought, suprised. The figure eyes him. "You know how to talk proper?" The blue boy asked. He has a lighter version of Theysha's voice. Benny noticed. "I-I try." He stammered. Ugh, I sound stupid. He thought angrily. The goofy haired boy smiled. "Ey, you's the new vis'ter, yeah?"
Benny nodded. "Ah, well let me tell ya somethin. Masta still be sleepin, and all the indentured folk, except fo me v'course, be sleepin. I best advise you to gettin back in bed." The boy said, doing weird hand motions while he talked. Benny shook his head. "No slep." He said.
The boy thought for a moment. "Well, you's could walk wit me. I'a be walkin when sleep can't seem ta catch up to me." He chuckled. Benny looked down, reluctant. He seems nice, but should I trust him? I just met him. I don't even know his name, and he's inviting me on a walk with him? Benny thought. As if the boy could read Benny's mind, he said, "Name's Daveed." He smiled, "You's?" He walked closer.
"B-Benny." Benny croaked. "Benny, it's either walk wit me, or bed." Daveed said. Benny looked down for a moment, thinking. "Eh.... wawk." He said. Daveed nudged Benny's shoulder. "Then come on. Needs ta show ya somethin." Benny slowly nodded and followed.

They walked into a room- Daveed's room. Benny looked around, amazed. To his right Daveed had a nice looking bed with velvet colored sheets and blankets. His pillow was white with blue stains- which Benny guessed was from Daveed's hair. To his left there was a shabby brown dresser closet. A giant chandelier hung overhead, but the only light source seemed to come from a lava lamp near the post of Daveed's bed. He searched for Daveed, who he found in the back. He seemed to be shoving things to the corners. He looked at Benny, "You's a USS, yeah?" he asked. Benny shrugged, "I dunno." Daveed pointed at him and flexed his hand, "You's can transform you body parts to any size." Benny nodded. Daveed smiled. "Could ya move this to the side?" He said, pointing to a lamp. Benny nodded and made his hands bigger to pick up the lamp. When he picked it up, he asked, "To?"
"That corner." He pointed to the corner closest to Benny.
When Benny moved it there, he noticed a yellow note on the ground. Curious, I wonder what it... "Benny!" He heard Daveed call. Benny quickly made a pocket with his skin and put the note in. He walked over to Daveed. "Yes?" Daveed pointed to the bookshelf. "You's read?" He asked. Benny nodded. "Ever needa book, jus tell me. I'lla give you any from THIS bookshelf. All's you gotta do is ask." He said.
"Really?" Benny exclaimed, mostly to himself.
He picked out a history book, encyclopedia, and a dictionary. "Informational reada?" He joked, "Ya nerd!" He laughed. Benny felt his face get hot.
The clocks start ringing. Benny looked around, panicked. "What's that?" He gasped. "Look at ya, all shaken up by a clock?" Daveed raised in eyebrow. "Its one in the mornin now. They not have clocks where you come from, Benny?"
Benny shook his head, is face getting darker. "Um, nuh no clocks. Only darkness. Never seen Sun until Ah- uh- I...." Benny stopped. "I go to room now, thank yo for buks." He said, half smiling.
"Wait!" Daveed called to him, but Benny was already out the door. He growled miserably to himself, then said out loud, "Nuh more bad, look to gud. Making gud memories."
