I flopped back onto Jayda's bed exhaustedly after powering through a set of trigonometry questions for one of the first times in almost seventeen years. I still found it funny trying to revert my life as a teacher back to when I was still a high school student while trying to keep my disguise up long enough to go unnoticed. Back in high school I was the kind of student that would just blatantly fall asleep during class and regret absolutely nothing, but now that I was in Jayda's body I had to stay stone cold awake in all the classes I had to sit in, diligently taking down notes to uphold her good work attitude.
It was a very tiring process altogether, but given the amount of paper I used to take down notes with on behalf of Jayda. I guess it was all worth it. I wonder how Jayda was handling my life though, my life was a pretty insane one, especially when I'm a high school Creative Writing slash English teacher by day and a band vocalist who performs in a bar by ni-
Oh my god, the band performance today.
How could I just forget about the performance today, Jayda had texted me everything about it the day before, asking me for singing advice and all that. I should have checked in with her to find out how she was doing, performing in my place on stage in front of quite a number of adults during happy hour.
I hastily reached out for Jayda's phone on the nightstand and opened the text message window I had with her under my name, hopefully she was doing fine with the performance and all that.
Me: So how did it go?
I was about to go offline when the reply slid in. That was definitely quicker than I thought it'll be.
Mr Lambert: Pretty good, you have great sounding original songs. We're going to perform Lay Me Down our last song for today, and then that's a wrap and I can finally have some down time to myself.
Me: Good luck for that! Wait, it's Lay Me Down by Avicii right?
Mr Lambert: Yep, Terrance suggested a full-blown performance for that, with him and Holly dancing as well. But one question, who provided the vocals for the track?
I couldn't help but giggle to myself. She definitely asked the right person about his original songs.
Me: I did.
Mr Lambert: I knew it, the vocalist really sounded a lot like you.
Smart.
Mr Lambert: I should really go now, performance's about to start. We're gonna let loose and have fun with this one.
How nice, Jayda being able to let go of her stress during her performance. It'll definitely do her something good considering how her young soul had to take on the daunting role of a middle aged high school teacher.
Me: Have fun Jayda! Tell us in the Emergency group all about it once you're done, and maybe by then we can also finalise our master plan to have the both of us switched back.

"Okay everyone, that's all we have for you today," I spoke dizzily into the microphone, still overwhelmed by the adrenaline pumping through my veins, "Thank you guys so much and we wish all of you a great day ahead."
