Morgan was standing in the shower shifting from foot to foot as she showered. Come on Morgan, it's just Gavin. Nothing bad happens with Gavin. I just need to calm down. Morgan thought. She turned the water off and looked around the bathroom.

"Morgan it's 5:30! You have a half hour before Gavin gets here, are you dressed?" Morgan's mom shouts to her. Morgan winced.

"Where did you put my dress?!" Morgan shouts back to her mom.

"It should be on one of your dressers!" She heard her mom shout. Morgan rushed into her room, a towel around her body. She saw her long sleeved navy blue sequined dress on her dresser. She closed the door to her room and quickly got dressed as she hummed the song Try. Morgan dried her hair and combed it, then curled her hair. As she was putting her shoes on she heard the doorbell ring.

"Morgan he's here!" She heard her mom shout. She then heard the door open. Morgan looked at herself in the mirror, panic overtaking her at that moment. She took a deep breath and released it slowly.

"Coming mom!" she shouted. Morgan walked out of her room, and to the front door. She saw Gavin was there in dark colored dress pants, and a white collared shirt under a red and green argyle patterned sweater. So cute... Morgan thought. Gavin smiled.

"Wow Morgan, you look gorgeous! I take it you like the color navy blue?" he asked.

"How'd you guess?" Morgan asked him, giggling slightly.

"Well, the two times we have gotten together the dresses you've worn have been navy blue," he said.

"Well, yes. Navy blue is my favorite color. So, what do you have planned for this evening?" Morgan asked him.

"Dinner at Vera's Italian Cuisine in Linn Mar, and then a movie at the Tryverg Theater," Gavin responded.

"Linn Mar? But that's at least 40 minutes away from here," Morgan responded. Gavin held out his arm to her.

"Then I suggest we head out. Thanks Mrs. Christenson for letting us get together," Gavin said to her mom.

"No problem. Be back by 10, and don't worry about waking your father and I. We will be awake talking about our agreement. Love you sweetheart," Morgan's mom said. Morgan winced slightly.

"Agreement?" Gavin questioned.

"I'll explain at dinner," Morgan said. The two walked out and as soon as Morgan walked into the cold she shivered.

"I should've grabbed a jacket," she said. Gavin wrapped an arm around her shoulders gently. Morgan blushed.

"Come on. I have reservations for 7," he said opening her car door for her. She got in and the two rode in silence. Once they got into the restaurant they made small talk. Questions like "how's break going so far?" arose, but Gavin never pressured her to hear the news she had. Finally, when halfway done with their food Morgan sighed.

"Morgan? What's wrong?" Gavin asked.

"It's the news I wanted to tell you. My parents.... are.... getting a divorce," Morgan said, frowning slightly. Gavin set down his fork and looked at her with concern in his eyes.

"Oh..... sorry to hear that. Will you be alright?" Gavin asked, reaching for her hand. Morgan nodded slowly, giving him her hand and he squeezed it gently.

"Yes I will. Hey I just remembered, isn't Linn Mar our first show choir competition?" Morgan asked, her face lighting up.

"Actually, yes! It is. And I hear we are getting some fierce competition from Ohio. A school called All-Main High. They have three groups coming this year," Gavin responded.

"Can you have three groups? That seems crazy," Morgan said, taking a sip of her soda. Gavin nodded.

"You can have three, yes, and actually we used to have three groups as well, until less guys were interested," he said.

"Didn't you say this was your first year of show choir?" Morgan asked.

"It is, but I researched a lot about the competition and our history during break," he responded. Morgan slowly nodded and they finished eating in silence.

"Alright, now that that is done, and paid for, let's head to the movie," Gavin said, standing. The two left and watched the movie, in silence.

This chapter was suggested by my best friend Kaitlin. Thank you so much Kaitlin!!! Love you buddy!! I mentioned Roman Empress' Understudy show choir group. Hint hint, remember that tip. ;)
