The Tale of the hedgehog brothers

Chapter 1: The begining

In the land of Möbius, there once were three hedgehog siblings: two brothers and a sister. The oldest was a blue hedgehog named Sonic because of his amazing super speed. The second born was a beautiful magenta hedgehog named Sonia who was kind and also strong and skilled with a motorcycle. The youngest was a green hedgehog named Manic who had no powers of his own but was very sneaky and clever.

The three lived together in harmony for most of their life's. Sonic's great speed and powers, he protected Möbius with pride and everyone loved him for his heroic efforts. But as time went by, Manic began to feel overshadowed and jealous by Sonic since he has no powers of his own. Until one day, everything began to change.

It was möbius' annual summertime festival, Sonic, Sonia, and Manic we're helping their mother Aleena prepare the festival. "Sonic, can you help set up the decorations?", asked Sonia. "No problem sis" said Sonic. He picked up the streamers and lanterns and in less than a minute, they were set up.

"Nice job bro.", said Manic as he held up a disk with some streamers attached. "Now watch this guys." He said and threw the disk. As it was flying, the streamers flew all over the place to where they're meant to go. Everyone seemed impressed until it came back and hit Manic on the back of the head. "Ow, agh!", he groaned in pain as everyone else began to laugh at him. Sonic and Sonia came and helped him up instead. "Are you ok Manic?" Asked Sonia in concern. He nodded for yes, then they heard their mother calling for them. "We're coming Mom," called Sonic, "Come on guys lets go,".

When they arrived, Aleena came up to them with a small chest. "There you three are. I have something to show you." She said. "What did you want to show us mother?" Asked Sonia. Aleena then opened the chest to reveal the contents: seven shining emerald gems of different colors were inside. "These are the chaos emeralds. They're the most powerful items in the world so they need to be well kept." She explained. Sonic then asked,"What can they do?". "They can give anyone their own super form with incredible powers." She answered him.

"For the festival this year, I want you to keep them with you at all times." "No worries Mom. They'll be in safe hands." Said Manic. But Aleena told him, "That's very brave of you to say Manic. But I'm giving them to Sonic to make sure they're safe." Then she passed them over to Sonic. "Oh right...good call." Said Manic looking down. "Don't worry. I'll just keep them in my bag the whole time." Sonic said while he put them in his backpack. With all that settled, the three hedgehog siblings grabbed their backpacks and headed out with Manic still giving having a sad looking face.

They were out at the market and shops having one last look around the decorations. "Looks like everything is ready for tonight." Sonia said. "Sure is sis. This will be one festival everyone will remember." Manic said with a more enthusiastic look on his face.

Just then, there was a loud crash and a scream was heard. "That sounds like trouble! Hold on to the emeralds for me." Sonic said then handed his backpack to his siblings before he sped off. "Sonic wait!", called out Manic but he was already gone. When Sonia saw him look down, she said "It's alright Manic, you know Sonic can take care of it." Then he mumbled "Yeah. I know."

Back with Sonic, he ran in and saw a shop being robbed bandits. "Hold it right there guys" he yelled. When they heard him, the bandits tried to run away from him. Then Sonic grabbed a rope and ran in a circle around them and they were all tied up in no time.

"Looks like you're all tied up" he joked. Everyone cheered for their speedy blue hero for stopping the bad guys. The shop owner thanked him for his service. "No problem. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get back to my siblings." And then Sonic sped off to find Sonia and Manic.

With Sonia and Manic, they were waiting for their brother. Manic still had a grumpy look on his face. He felt that he really had enough of people noticing and praising Sonic more than him. He was even starting to feel like his own family wasn't even trusting him enough. Just then, Sonic came back feeling pleased with himself. "Another problem solved by yours truly," he said while not noticing how upset his brother looked. "I swear, there's nobody else who's as good as me. Now to get the chaos emeralds to the festival. Where are they?" He asked and then Manic said, "Here you go, hero!" And threw it roughly at him.

"Ow! What was that?!" Sonic said. "Manic! What has gotten into you?" Sonia asked him. "Oh so now you notice me and not the blue blur." He said in an angry tone. "What's wrong with you?" Said Sonic just as mad. "Everything. From the decorations today, to going to stop bandits alone, now you being trusted with the most powerful gems in the world instead of me!" He yelled. "Hey! I'm sorry that today didn't go your way. I was just doing my job." Yelled back Sonic, but Manic wasn't done. "It's not just today, it's everyday! 'Sonic saved the day', 'Sonic you're a hero', Sonic this, Sonic that. IM SICK OF IT ALREADY !"

"So you're not happy with me being a hero is that it? I'm just putting my powers to use cause I'm the only one us who has super speed." Shot back Sonic with anger. "That's another thing. You're the one with super speed and all you do is take advantage of it!" Manic yelled. Sonic then snapped, "ITS NOT MY FAULT YOU DON'T HAVE ANY POWERS!"

"That's enough you two!" Sonia said cause she had enough of her brothers fighting. Then Manic grabbed his bag and walked away. "I'll see you guys at the festival." Sonia was about to go after him when Sonic stopped her. "Let him go cool down a little. Right now we got to get the emeralds to the festival." He said unaware that he had the wrong backpack.

With Manic, he was stomping his way down the path on his own trying to forget about what his brother said. Then he stopped when he felt something in his bag that shouldn't be. "What is wrong with this thing?", he said. He opened the backpack and dumped out everything in it. As everything scattered to the ground, out among them was the chaos emeralds! "The chaos emeralds! This Sonic's backpack!" Manic was surprised, then his face turned sour again. "These things are what caused all this trouble. All this fuss over some dumb rocks!", and kicked one of them out of anger. Suddenly, they activated by accident and started glowing. Manic backed away scared and thought of running away from them when finally they shot a beam straight at him.
