"Willow, hurry up, you have ten minutes to be down this stairs and I will be leaving with or without you" My dad shouted up the stairs. I rolled my eyes and glanced at myself in the mirror. My denim skater skirt rested just above my knees and my blazer and white t shirt sat nicely on my slim body.
Happy with my appearance I slipped on my white pumps and picked up my brown satchel, once more scanning the contents to make sure I had everything for my fist day at Holmes chapel Comprehensive School. My pencil case, purse, brick of a phone, scientific calculator, piano books notepad and PE kit sat nicely in my bag.
I picked up my bag and ran down the stairs. My dad was standing by the doorway ready and waiting in his suit and tie, brief case in hand.
"Are you ready Willow?" He asked me as he unlocked the front door.
"Yeah, I think so" I told him.
"The word is yes, I believe" He corrected me, I simply nodded and rolled my eyes as I followed him out of the house and into the car that was parked in the driveway. My Dad started up the car and it roared to life as he reversed out of the drive way and began driving through the streets of Holmes chapels.
"Now Willow, as soon as you arrive in school I want you to go to the office and collect your timetable and locker number, then go to your locker so you know where it is for the future and then I want you to leave to for your class at least ten minutes early, I do not want you to be late for your very first class" He lectured and I just stared out into the window taking in my new surroundings.
"And there will be no bringing boys home at all, I know you're mother used to let that James boy come by but I will not have any boyfriends in your life. You are young and have the rest of your life to do that for now you focus on school, exams and piano. Which reminds me your lessons are on a Thursday at five o'clock. I will be home tonight at seven, I have a long shift" He told me as we pulled into a parking lot beside a tall building with a sign reading 'Holmes chapel comprehensive school'. I opened the car door and stepped out.
"Do you hear me Willow?" My dad questioned me.
"Yes dad, you will be home at six" I repeated the information back to him.
"That's right, now enjoy your day Willow and behave" He warned me.
"I will, bye dad"
"Good bye Willow, oh and you will have to walk home it's only a fifteen minute walk I have printed out a map for you" He handed me a folded piece of paper and I simply raised an eyebrow and placed it into my bag.tio
"Bye dad" I told him closing the far door and heading towards the main entrance of the school. I looked around the quiet school lobby which was to be expected since I was forty minutes early. I took a right down a corridor and my luck was in as to my left was a school office. I stood by the window and waited for one of the staff member to help me. A woman in her late fifties by the looks of it walked up to me.
"How can I help you?" She asked me in a nasally tone?
"My name is Willow Martin and I'm new here, I'm in year eleven" I told her and she nodded.
"Wait a minute and I will get your map, locker and schedule" She told me and toddled off to her computer. I waited patiently taking in my surroundings. The corridor was lined with pictures of pupils and staff of the school who had achieved various awards. There was a trophy cabinet on the left wall and then another door.
"Em excuse me" I turned back to the secretary wih handed me three sheets of paper.
"This is y our timetable, school starts at ten to nine, that's a map of the school and there is your locker and combination your locker is down the end of this corridor and to the left and at the very end of that corridor" She instructed me, I smiled at her and thanked her heading down the corridor.
