I never give in on the first date, but Jerry had already pushed me into the abandoned part of the old mall. He had been a lot sweeter than most of his exs said he was. Maybe I'm special. I dropped the bag of random items he had gotten for me by the old door. The walls were coated in little flakes of paint that looked like they would rain down any second.
"What is this place?" I asked in between breaths as Jerry pulled me on top of him in an old dusty chair.
Jerry pushed himself up and kissed the side of my neck, "Some old abandoned theater." He pauses as I stop his hand from going up my shirt. My mom always told me I should wait on things like this, but all my friends keep bragging about their first times. Still, I don't want my first time being in this old theater. Though where else could we go? "You ok?" Jerry's question brings me back to reality.
"Huh, yeah. I'm- I'm fine." I answered playing with his stripped jacket.
He put his hand on my cheek and whispered "It's ok if your nervous. Everyone is their first time."
"It's just-"
"What?" Jerry's voice went a little dark along with his eyes.
"I- I don't think I'm ready." When I said those words his jaw clenched a bit, but he seemed to brush it off. Jerry again started kissing my neck and kept trying to put his hands up my shirt.
"Jerry you need to stop." I said pulling his hands out of my shirt for the last time.
He looked at me with bright eyes as he whispered, "I'm just trying to make you comfortable. Maybe you'll feel ready then, ok?" His blue eyes shimmered in the dim lights as he stared at me for an answer. I felt my shoulders relax, and my heart slow a bit . . . maybe I am ready and just scared.
Suddenly a booming voice interrupted us, "LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!" Jerry jumped and my arms were covered with goose bumps. I turned my head to see the old moldy stage had a new performer walking across its creaky boards.
She had this golden hair that shimmered in the light, and it reached down to her lower back. It wasn't ratty and it wasn't smooth, but something about it felt lazy. She wore a pair of shorts fit for this Massachusetts heat, and a dark black shirt plain and ripped. The girl was tall and her legs were long and lit under the faint glow of old stage lights. I felt my self esteem drop at her sight.
"May I have your attention!" Her low voice echoed through the halls without the aid of a microphone. "This is production is strictly unsuitable for children, I'd advise all minors exit through the back!"
I looked to Jerry confused only to find him staring at her legs. With a smack to the chest he yelled back to her, "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE?!" She stopped dead in the middle of her pacing. At first I thought she didn't realize we were here, but the smile that shown upon her face said other wise.
"Sir, would you be so kind as not to interrupt me?" She laughed suddenly as if something was generally funny. Another laugh immediately joined in the distance. "Why hello there." She said while putting her hands on her knees, "What's your name?" She titled her head with a goofy smile stretched across her face. In the distances I could hear a dragging sound, but those green eyes held my gaze.
"N-Natalie" I felt my voice choke on my answer.
"Natalie." I cringed at how her voice said it, what was with this girl? "How old are you?" Her question ended on a low note that gave me chills.
"12." I spoke with confidence. Suddenly she giggled hysterically as Jerry mumbled curse words.
She looked back to me with twinkling eyes, "Oh honey." she started to sound like a mother, but she looked all too young "This play were going to do is reaaally bad, it's going to get messy. I'm afraid you can't watch unless your here with someone whose at least 18."
This time Jerry was the one who laughed, "I'm 18." he showed off his prize smile. At this the strange girl put her hand over her mouth in shock.
For a moment there was nothing but an eerie silence.
"You know," she started with a tone less cheerful, "There's an age limit on this ride." She said while pointing her spidery hands at me.
I shot up in objection, "It's MY body I choose what I want to do with it." at this she feel silent and just starred blankly for a moment or two.
"That's a shame." She said still loudly but her voice diminished, "Say, you wouldn't mind though?"
I stared at her puzzled, "Wouldn't mind what?"
"Wouldn't mind if you shared it?" She said as she pulled a large knife out from behind the tattered curtain.
I froze at the sight of the glittering knife. . . shared what? . . . I watch as she jumps off the stage and walks down the rows . . . what does she want me to share . . . . I could feel Jerry pulling on me . . . . she wants me to share my body I finally realizes as she stops in front us with a smile on her face.
Jerry spins me around to run, but the door had been covered with a strange looking piece of furniture. The girl laughed at our panic eyes, and as she laugh I saw her eyes turn dark. I felt a sudden pain rush down my spine as my head throbbed.
For a moment my eyes went blurry and it sounded like I was under water. Suddenly everything was dark.
