I Love You

" Hurry up Jasmine! You're gonna be late!" yelled my mom.

" OK, fine I'm done! I just need to put my shoes on". Today is the first day of high school! I've been waiting for this my whole life!!! I've read these love novels online about high school love and they just brought me to tears. I can't wait to have a love story of my own.

*School bell rings*

" Welcome to West High, I am Mrs. Jewels and I'll be your homeroom teacher for this year", said the teacher. This is so exciting! I can't wait to see who I'm gonna sit by this year! I hope it's Jake because I've had the biggest crush on him since 8th grade. 

*Mrs. Jewel assigned our seats to us*

Hmm, who's this? Oh yeah! He's Jake's best friend, Even. Maybe I should be friends with him so I can get close to Jake. 

"  OK, your first assignment of the year is a partner project, your partner will be the person that seated to your right ", right...Its Evan. " You have to observe a habitat of your choice for science". This is my chance to get close to him. Oh I forgot one detail, I'M SUPER SHY! 

" Hey... so... what habitiat do you want to choose?" I asked. My voice was really shaky... I'm such a wimp. 

" I don't know... I'm fine with anything." He whispered. He seems to be quite shy too. I guess this is going well.

" Hmm... what about the lake by the park?" I asked. " Its really pretty there."

" Sure", he mumbled." Lets go after school".

*Walking to the lake together*

" So... what's your hobby?" I asked. I felt like a weirdo but I really don't want to have a super quiet walk for 10 mins. 

" Well I like to snowboard and play baseball ", he said. 

" Omg, I love to snowboard and play softball, we have a lot in common!" I sqealed. " Let's be friends!"

" Okay, sure!" he laughed. That was the first time I saw him laugh. It was cute. For the whole afternoon, we talked and shared our secrets. He told me about what he wanted to do when he grew up and I told him what my dreams are. I had even almost forgot about the reason why I got close to him and why we were there.

" Well its getting late, we should go home",he said. " Let's do this again, but next time, we actually have to do our project".

" Haha, yeah we should, well... bye". Today was such a good day, I really didn't want it to end. " Oh wait, let me get get your number", I shouted.

" Okay, it's 555-8173".

" Thanks! Bye!" , I said while waving goodbye. This was the best day ever.
