My life was so colorful
Purple was my family,
who I treated like royalty.
Yellow for the sun,
whose rays shined on me.
Red was my lover,
strong, fast, and sweet.
Pink for friendship,
I said forever and always I'd keep.
Orange was sports,
a large part of my life.
Green then, was the grass by the meadow-side.
A cold, dark, blue was my curiosity.
It ate out the best in me.
It led to black.
Mix it with any color, it turns to grey.
Slowly, slowly, my colors ran away.
They had blended together,
nothing stood out.
Nothing was meaningful,
nothing devout.
After watching the darkness,
I remembered something I saw.
There was one last color!
Yes! Once and for all.
There is One who comes and makes us new again
He cleanses us, He washes away our sin.
He takes our grey, and gives us white.
Removing our transgressions away from sight.
Jesus makes us brand new, a clean plate.
Filled with color, he shows us grace.
