"Fidelity, I think Bailey is missing."

Emmy didn't even get to finish her sentence before I was running through the house full of drunken bodies grinding on each other. I said 'excuse me' and 'pardon me' as I made my way all around the mansion where our graduation party was being held. I searched through every bedrooms, restroom, closets, and still saw no sign of Bailey.

I went back to the kitchen- hoping that she would show up. I looked out the window and saw Bailey's boyfriend, Fred. He was tongue wrestling with a girl who definitely wasn't Bailey. I threw open the sliding door and stepped out into the crisp, cold night air.

"Where is Bailey." I got right to the point.

"She ran that way," he pointed towards the forest.

I nodded and headed towards the direction where Fred pointed to. Worry was fueling my adrenaline. Bailey could be hurt or lost. Emmy and I know first hand how much she likes a good party, and where there is a party- there is alcohol.

I couldn't see anything because it was well past midnight. I got scraped and whacked my branches, but they just got ignored. I stopped to catch my breath when I heard a whimper. I went towards the sound, hoping that I would find Bailey.

I guess my prayer was answered because in the middle of a clearing, was Bailey huddled in a small ball. It was what was in front of her that made my blood run cold.

She was surrounded by snarling wolves. One started crouching down low, looking like it was about to pounce. I let instinct take over as I ran over her. I covered her body with mine in a protective manner. I narrowed my eyes at the wolves as if daring them to come closer.

They shocked me by cowering back. They lowered turned around and ran into the night. I sat down and pulled Bailey towards my body. She was shivering and holding onto an empty bottle of alcohol like it was a life line.

I rocked her back and forth while cooing her like a mother would. I guess that is what I was in our friendship- I was the wise mother figure. We stayed like that for a while and I was getting antsy before she decided to speak. I was glad for the distraction because I was getting too caught up in my thoughts. What if the wolves come back? They were the biggest wolves I have ever seen and they looked intimidating to say the least.

“Hey Fidelity?” she asked.

“Hmm?”

“Did you see Fred with that girl?"

“I did, honey.” I said. I really had no idea what to say.

“Yeah, so did I.”
