It has only been an hour since my life started getting interesting but not in a good way. Now my friends and I are hiding from dangerous people behind garbage scraps which is giving off a wretched stink that we can't handle anymore.
I am starting to miss my family even though the whole point of the trip was to get away from them. I can't seem to start writing since there's so much to say and since it's so hard to write down I'm trying to stall. So, it all began when... That's a funny saying. It didn't begin then; it really began when I was born.
Ok, the stalling is not accomplishing anything so I'll start from the beginning. It was the end of the semester, my friends and I had just finished finals. I hope I did well because the whole time I had been thinking about a vacation. Cory, Sadie and I were going to Florida. We wanted to relax and take a break from the stressful works of school. At first my parents said no but I was able to talk them into it. I had been bugging them for weeks when they finally gave in.
"Please, it will be fun?" I asked.
"It's dangerous for sixteen year old kids to be going on a trip by themselves," my dad said.
"We'll be careful; I have a friend in Florida."
"Who?"
"Carter."
"Good kid?"
"Yeah, but you can't really call him a kid."
"Why not?"
"He's thirty."
"Thirty?"
"Yeah." Ok, so I don't really have a friend in Florida, but I had to go.
"Can I speak to him?" He asked sounding like he didn't believe me.
"Sure, hold on let me get him on line," I walked into the other room trying to get my friend Cory on line.
"Ready?" I whispered.
"Ready," he said.
"Dad, here," I handed him the phone.
"Hello?" I couldn't make out what Cory was saying.
"Yes, will he be safe?"
"And how do you know this for sure."
"Alright, just give me a call if he does anything wrong."
"Alright, thank you. Bye." He ended his conversation, and handed me my phone.
"Promise you'll be careful?"
"Yes!" I said. I couldn't hold back and I smiled, I was so excited.
"Wait, you'll have to ask mom," he said.
"Thank you, thank you, and thank you!" I yelled, and ran downstairs as fast as I could. Mom was there cooking as usual.
"Mom, dad said yes!" I yelled still excited.
"If it's ok with dad it's ok with me," she said. I don't even think she knew what I was talking about because she didn't even bother to turn around and face me. I ran upstairs, called Cory immediately, and almost the same exact conversation occurred with his dad as with mine. I acted as 'Carter' for him. On the other hand Sadie's parents were so much easier, she says they just said yes, but that's hard for me to believe.
