Cold.
That's all I could feel around me as I moved across the ice with my eyes closed. I was currently skating on the pond in the wood behind my backyard.
I loved the ice. I loved its cold and marvelously smooth feeling. Skating along the ice, was like flying for me. And I currently was as I jumped up into the air and spun around twice before landing smoothly on the ice and skating backwards.
I felt free skating, a feeling I hardly felt seeing as I had to be the perfect little girl for everyone around me. The only other time I could ever truly be myself was when I was with -
"Sapphire!" Someone called out.
Snapping my eyes open, I looked straight ahead toward the source of the voice. There standing by the edge of the pond was my best friend, Ruby Henderson. It was a weird coincidence that we both had jewel related names, but it's what brought us together. She's also the only person that I'm able to be myself around.
Skating over to her from the middle of the iced over pond, I said, "Hey Ruby, what's up?"
"I got the newest Naruto manga!!" She squealed in delight.
I raised an eyebrow at this. I wasn't much of a Naruto fan. Heck, I wasn't much of an anime fan in general. This was where Ruby and I were different. She was a huge otaku nerd where as I was the perfect little princess. Complete polar opposites.
"That's nice, I guess." I said shrugging.
She frowned at my response before saying, "You really need to read it, I'm sure you'd love it!"
I rolled my eyes at her. Another thing in our relationship, was that she'd try to get me to read manga or watch anime and I'd try to get her to watch Pretty Little Liars with me.
"For the last time, Ruby, I'm not gonna read it." I said exasperated.
"But please?! Just three volumes! Pretty please?! With snickers on top?!"
That certainly got me. Ruby knew of my weakness for snickers.
"How much?" I asked with my eyes narrowed.
"YESH!! 10 snickers!!" She exclaimed with a huge grin.
"Deal." I said immediately excepting.
~~~Time Skip~~~
After that, I sat at home and started reading the 3-in-1 manga of Naruto Ruby gave me. I remember her bringing it to school on several occasions. Most occasions to try and get me to read it. Ugh.
As much as I hate to admit it, and trust me I really hate to, but the manga really isn't all that bad. I understand all the jutsu stuff and what not better after taking a nice look at Narutopedia. But there was one thing I didn't like about the manga.
And that's Sakura.
Now I'm pretty sure you expect me to start bashing on her and complain about how she's a useless fangirl. I'm not though. My problem with Sakura is actually directed to the people around her. They treat her like she really is useless, like she's a weakling with absolutely no potential. Sure she's smart, but that will get you almost nowhere in the world of shinobi. And everyone around her can see that.
'I only wish that I could be in Sakura's body so I can at least try and make people respect her.' I thought silently to myself as I set the Naruto book on my nightstand and turned off my lamp.
'I wonder if Ruby's up for seeing Vampire Academy a 3rd time...?'
With that last thought, I drifted off into a deep sleep.
~~~Time Skip In the Morning~~~
I woke up this morning to the sound of chirping birds. Which is weird considering I don't normally hear birds in the morning. Shrugging it off, I sat up and pulled the covers off of my legs so I'd be able to ge out of bed easier. Though after a quick glance at my feet, I froze.
My feet were unblemished and looked smooth and silky feeling. This freaked me out a lot considering that the night before, I had lots of blisters and scars on my feet from my many hours of ice skating.
Scrambling out of bed, I also took notice in the change of my height and how gravity seemed to have brought me closer to the floor. Spotting a body mirror on the other side of the room, that now that I have a better look at it, looks nothing like mine other than the pink walls seeing as my room's a mess and this one's spotless. Even more freaked out, I quickly made the few steps it took over to the mirror and nearly fainted from what I saw.
There, staring eye to eye with me was Sakura Haruno.

Review/Vote if you liked this. If you do, I'll post more chapters c:
Update: I was rereading my last few chapters for more inspiration for further chapters and I remembered that the best friend is named Ruby. I created this story before Steven Universe came out, but Ruby and Sapphire. Ruby and Amethyst. I'm now changing Amethyst's name to Sapphire just so I can troll you all. It helps cause like Sapphire, Amethyst has always done what was expected of her - what she thought she had to do for there to be the right outcome. Not really a major change to the plot, but definitely something to think about.
