The girl looked out at the winking sky. Her curly locks slowly danced in the wind as it softly blew music. Her eyes with no emotion, and her smile drooping. The dress she was wearing softly swirled against her legs. She felt her shoulders shudder as she looked straight ahead, the cold tickling her skin. She reached out straight ahead, but only to find no existence of a feeling. The boy looked at the girl, his eyes wondering how she came to be like this, thoughtful and no emotion. He looked at the girl he once knew, wondering how she came to have no emotion, no heart, no life. She looked lifeless, as if she was a doll and nonexistent. Her eyes soft, but feared. Her smile sad, but happy. She was different from the others. With her violet like eyes and her soft, white colored hair. He looked at her, wondering why she was holding her hand out, when there was nothing there.
"What are you doing?" Asked the boy as he looked at her cautiously.
"Looking," the girl said emotionally
"At what?" Asked the boy as he turned to look completely at her.
"The world." She said as the waves to the tide moved faster.
The boy looked at the girl. Confusion running across his face. He still wondered what happened to the girl. How she became so emotionless.
"Do you know what it's like, seeing the world in a different perspective?" Asked the girl.
The boy shook his head, wondering what she was gonna say next.
"We waste our time doing stuff that doesn't matter. We yell and cry and we destroy, blaming things on others. We destroy others for our humor. We hurt those who make us happy. We lie and cheat. We take and never give. We do so many bad things, and we never have the thought that it's us, who are the bad ones, -" she paused for a moment, "but there's always a beauty. We get to experience things, see things, hear and talk about things we would've never imagined about. Our imagination runs wild. We get to see the beauty of a new beginning, like the birth of spring. We get to see the happiness, like how the sun shines brightly and how the stars twinkle. We get to see the way a child is born. We get to see the way a new world is out together. We see our children and grandchildren. We have mistakes, and take those to make lessons for our family. People were born on this planet we call earth for a reason." The girl finished as she slowly turned to the boy. She takes his hand in hers.
"I know, what you do to yourself everyday. But you don't have to do that for yourself -" she pauses and pulls up his sleeve, only to see the scattered lines dancing across his arm, "you don't have to hate life. You can see the beauty in this world, if you just open your eyes. You think the world is an enemy, but if you change your point of view on it, you can make it seem like heaven."
The girl looked at the boy, his tears pouring out of his ocean eyes like a waterfall. He suddenly hugged her, as if he was the flash. He cried and cried in her arms. His tears pouring into her angel wings. Her arms softly pulled him closer, as if they were the shield to him. She slowly rubbed her hand up and down his back, and smiled. She was finally happy. It seemed as if the universe connected to that smile, as the stars seemed to shine as bright as the sun and the moon seemed to be drunk in light.
He finally realized it. It wasn't the girl who was emotionless, it was him. He was the one who wasn't smiling. He wasn't the one who was happy, she was. She wasn't the one who was depressed, he was. He was what made the world gloomy, as she was what made the world shine. He soon realized it.
He pulled away from the hug, smiling as he figured it out. He looked back out to the ocean, the waves calm, and the sunrise rising. Everything was brighter. And everything was happier. They stood there, not saying anything and not doing anything, just holding hands. They knew the silence was special, as it was their silence. They didn't need words, they just needed each other.
