Prologue

White ash fell from the sky, I looked around at the field covered in a thick blanket of gray and white the sky pitch black. I remember the distant figure someone looking at me, a girl with long dark hair and pale white skin. I called to her but she didn't answer me she turned to walk away something bothered me about that how she left it made me want to follow her I couldn't resist not following her something about her called to me. I ran and didn't stop running but the more I ran the further away she felt. I couldn't catch up to her my exhaustion was getting to me my feet failing me I couldn't continue my throat felt like it was burning like someone had shoved a white hot branding iron down my throat. I couldn't breathe my legs gave I collapsed and I felt a liquid covering my throat I touched it I noticed warm red liquid was on my fingers. Blood it was blood, not just anyone's blood it was my own.
