A middle aged man, lives in the middle of a grassy plane with a small river that leads to the only civilization for miles. On foot it would take about 4 days to reach that small civilization named Yamaha. Yamaha was the birthplace of this odd man named Daegon who lives on this bit of land he got as a welcome home present.
We come to see Daegon in his normal routine of sleeping in past noon.
“Uggh!” Daegon groans has he attempts to uncover himself, to no avail. Instead of getting up, he falls onto the floor with the blanket somehow wrapped around his head. “Mugh!” a muffled scream encompassed his bedroom. Apparently he was almost suffocating under their, poor pitiful man.
Managing to survive his encounter with the pale rider via his blanket. He starts to take a bath in lake water that was collected from the watermill outside. Daegon was never good with crafting but managed this marvel, or at least what he considers a ‘marvel’. In reality all he did was put a hole in bathroom roof where the windmill that’s been here before he even moved in. It was a simple system of rotating the watermill so much it would fling water into the bathtub.
After Daegons done with his bath he went to do his other morning routine, Checking Messages on his personal [Communication Rune]. A long time ago he got this rune from a homebody wizard who was amazing with his craft. This devise would cost 500 gold pieces but he go it as a gift for doing a favor.“Tch, figures. No one even knows I exist let alone how to contact me.” Clicking his tounge he carries the [Communication Rune] to check on something that might entertain him today. Following the same old same old Daegon Juggles his rune while looking for something to eat. After looking for 20ish minutes he remembered something…
(I ate the last of my rations yesterday….) “Fuck!” He exclaims kicking the nearest object being his kitchen table. Needless to say the idiot stubbed his toes.
Turns out this 25 year old man forgot to even attempt to farm… meaning his chances to survive are coming to an end. With this kind of realization Daegon would slap himself silly but this was not the time for self punishment. It was a time for action! Adventure! And the start of his quest for farming goods and rations!
He gathers things for this expedition that might be useful.Daegon gains:
4 [Wards of Minor Protection]
5 [20 inch rope]
2 [Flint and Steal]
1 [Blanket of Warming]
1 [Backpack]“Hey Steven!” Daegon calls to his old traveling buddy, Steven the war horse. “I know its been awhile buddy but-“ Daegon paused noticing that Steven wasn’t in his pen or anywhere in fact. He started to feel his heart drop into his stomach as he remembered his laziness coma. “S-Steven im so, so sorry!” guilt riddled, all he could do was weep. Steven, his only ride back to Yamaha and his only friend was gone…
(Im just following the river. How hard could it be?) Daegon thought as he begins to follow the river. If Daegon remembered anything he would remember how dangerous the night was. Especially for a 25 year old virgin with the charisma of a dead fish.
Without anything to eat all day and his body not wanting to move anymore he sets up camp. He looked back to still see his house in full view. Didn’t really walk to far did ya? Daegons’ face showed nothing but plain anguish against his own inability.
