The walk to our private room was excruciatingly long, Yoongi not saying a word as he lead me through campus.
God, I'd even prefer to walk with a non-stop talking and shamelessly flirting Jungkook than the silent Yoongi.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy silence, but this was an awkward silence. A silence that cut through the skin, slowly burning as it crept on you.
I sighed relieved as we reached the rooftop of one of the buildings, Yoongi taking off his red bomber jacket to reveal his loose, black T-shirt. I now realised how pale and fragile he looked, his arms quite skinny and delicate collarbones showing.
"Thanks. For agreeing to teach me." I spoke softly, breaking the piercing silence.
Finally, his eyes met mine before he shrugged lazily. "I'm only doing it for the credits so I can skip math." He groaned as he scrunched up his nose. "I fucking hate math." He mumbled, more to himself than me.
He clapped his hands together before continuing. "So, what do we have here then? I mean, I know you've never had proper training, but surely you've learned how to shoot fireballs?" He eyed me in anticipation as I shook my head slowly.
"No?" He frowned slightly. "Ever burnt ants between the tip of your fingers?" I shook my head again, making him sigh deeply. "Reheated a cup of cooled down tea perhaps?" Again, I shook my head.
He grimaced while he cracked some bones in his neck. "Right, this is going to take long then. Do you even know how to make fire?"
I sighed before shaking my head again, ashamed of my lack of skill.
"How do you know you're a fire bender then?" Yoongi asked confused while he closed in the distance between us.
"I-I-it just happens sometimes. Like, f-f-fire comes out." I stuttered due to his proximity. I could now feel his hot breath on my forehead as he leaned down on me.
Was he going to kiss me? Surely he wouldn't do that, but why was he so close now?
"Open up." He said, making me choke on air.
"S-sorry?" I asked him once I managed to breath again.
He simply rolled his eyes as he impatiently grabbed my trembling hands with his pale ones, placing my hands horizontal with their palms up.
My eyes widened as he ignited a small flame, placing it over the palm of my hands. My eyes became even bigger as he removed his hands, the flame remaining to dance on top of my hands.
I'd never experienced fire like this before. It was warm and gentle, like a beating heart. I got lost staring at the small flame, not noticing the lack of warmth Yoongi had given me as he moved away.
"Earth to Gabrielle? It's only fire, if you're going to stare at it like that each time you make it, we're going to have a problem." He chuckled as I looked up at him in shock, finding him at the opposite end of the rooftop. "Throw it over." He deadpanned once he noticed he had my attention again.
"W-what?" I asked, not sure whether I understood him properly.
"Throw. It. Over." Yoongi repeated, a small smile on his lips as he pointed at the flame still floating on my hands.
"Right." I nodded, not moving an inch as I thought of how to do this.
Yoongi let out a small groan of frustration as he noticed my hesitation. "Just throw it. Like a ball? Don't tell me you've never thrown over a ball before." He huffed in disbelief.
I quickly shook my head before I lurched back a little before sending my palm through the air towards Yoongi's direction, hoping the flame would leave my palm.
