"Oh my god. I'm so sorry! Are you okay?" I said, while trying to suppress the feeling of wanting to smack myself. I just awkwardly bumped into a random guy. My hands had landed on his chest after they shot out in a reflex to save myself from falling.
Well, I didn't fall. Because of this boy in front of me, which is nice, but our position was kind of awkward. His arms were wrapped around my waist, probably in a reflex too.
Or maybe he's a bit of a perv.
Well hello there, inner voice!
I looked up from the chest that was in contact with my slightly sweaty palms to see a dark-brown haired and brown eyed boy. He looked muscular, but not too muscular, just the right amount. He had on a white V-neck shirt with a regular pair of jeans. He looked really good.
"Don't worry about it, I'm fine." He said smiling. Damn, he looked cute when he smiled.
His expression soon turned into a puzzled look.
He must have asked something, you stupid.
I shook my head clear of thoughts and looked back up, seeing that my eyes had drifted of to his shoulders as I was being insulted by my inner voice. "Hmmm? Sorry, what did you say again?"
"I asked for your name." He said with that cute smile back on his face. My cheeks suddenly felt really warm, I knew I was blushing. So I looked away.
You are such a girl!
My gaze landed on my hands, which were still on the boy's chest. I cleared my throat awkwardly and pulled my hands away from his chest. He noticed the gesture and removed his arms from my waist.
"Sorry." He said, while he scratched the back of his neck.
So much for not being awkward.
"It's okay. I'm Jordan." I said, while looking down at the ground tucking a strand of my light-brown hair behind my ear.
"You look cute when you're blushing." A smile made its way onto my face.
He just called me cute!
He's insane.
That's mean. Stupid inner voice.
I looked into his brown eyes again. "Thank you. I'm sorry, but what's your name again?" I rolled my lips inwards, a bit embarassed at myself.
"I'm Justin." His smile grew into a smirk and his eyes twinkled as he continued. "Jordan, tell me, what is a girl running down the hallway and bumping into guys thinking?"
I chuckled a little. I held one single finger up between our faces. "Well, first of all you're the only guy I bumped into so it's not that bad.." I hold up another finger. "And second of all, I'm kind of running late for class."
"Oh! What class do you have to go to?"
"Chemistry."
"Really? Well if you're okay with it, I'd like to escort you to your class." He suggested with a smirk. "Maybe I can keep you from bumping into other guys?" His eyes twinkled. He was enjoying this way too much to my liking.
"Ha. Ha." I said in a sarcastic way. He immediately smiled.
"So I can take you to class?" He bit his lip softly and I couldn't help but smile.
"Sure."
"Well let's go then!" We started walking. "So you're new, huh?"
"Yes, I am."
Was it really that obvious?
"Have you met anyone nice yet?"
"I met you."
He put his arm around my shoulder. "You barely know me." He said with a grin. "But of course, we could get to know each other more." He shrugged.
I froze. Did he just ask me out? I guess there's only one way to find out...
"A-Are you asking me out?" I stuttered.
What's wrong with that kid?! You need to take him to a doctor on your date, Jordan!
Ha. Ha. Funny. Thanks for boosting my self-esteem.
"Well, maybe I am." He said in a low voice.
"Are you trying to be mysterious?"
"Maybe." He grinned. "So what do you say, do you want to go on a date with me?"
"I'd love to."
"Great."
He stopped in front of a door. "Here we are."
"Wait. Do we have chemistry together?"
He smiled. "Yes we do. Can I sit next to you?"
And so he did. We compared our schedules and exchanged phone numbers. Apart from that, we were paying attention to what the teacher was telling the students. Then the bell rang.
"See you at lunch?" He asked.
"Yeah." I smiled.
"Alright. Till then, Jordan."
"Bye, Justin."
